For saltwater fishing off the Florida Panhandle look no further than Captain Fred Trotter. He has over 30 years of experience fishing off the Gulf of Mexico and knows exactly where to take you and what to do, to provide you with a great all-round fishing experience.
You'll be touring around on a 28ft Dusky. This center console was originally built in 2020 and is powered by twin 200s Suzuki engines, allowing you to cruise around the water up to 45 knots. It's got onboard fishfinder equipment and a live bait well to keep it nice and fresh for your fishing adventure.
You'll use a variety of techniques such as bottom fishing, trolling, and jigging to catch native species like Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper, and Redfish. Fishing for Amberjack is one of Captain Fred’s favorite chases though and he offers specialized charters for this activity.
As well as a Florida fishing license he offers top of the range rods, reels, and lures to aid you in your quest of catching the biggest fish of the trip.
There's a hot sun on the Gulf of Mexico so be sure to pack your shades and plenty of sunscreen as well as extra drinks and snacks. No matter the fish you have in mind, Captain Fred will help you catch it along with many more.

AMAZING TIME

We had an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Fred for my son’s 9th birthday. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. We caught tons of fish, including some big ones like red snapper, amberjack, and triggerfish! The captain was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He made us feel like family and clearly knew the waters inside and out. He took us straight to the hot spots. It was a perfect day, and we can’t recommend him highly enough. We’ll definitely be back for a trip with Captain Fred!

PCB Fishing with Captain Fred

We had a great day on the gulf with Captain Fred. I fish with charters about 10 times a year and our experience ranks among the best. We caught 7 different species including red snapper, grouper, amber jack and vermillion snapper which we limited out on. Fred is an excellent fisherman and he worked hard to put us on fish and lines baited. Highly recommend.

Captain Fred was friendly and very accommodating from very beginning. He put us on fish throughout the trip.. tried really hard to put on the kind of fish we most wanted to catch.. which we did catch some, just hard to catch within the limits to keep.. but was a lot of fun catching a lot of fish, which we did.. he definitely put on fish.. not much time for taking a break.. overall, was a very successful trip. Would recommend Captain Fred to anyone that just wants to catch a lot of fish..

Very professional and personable. Very knowledgeable and eager to teach techniques. Took my son and daughter. The capt ask what we wanted to catch. I told him it was up to him. Best idea I ever had. We caught lots of Bonita and kings trolling to the structure. Then we caught so many amberjack that we are exhausted and sore. Double hook up multiple times. Will be the only charter service I will ever use again in the gulf.

We went out promptly at 7 with captain Fred and had a great experience all the way around. We had our trip rescheduled due to a storm on our original day, but captain Fred went out of his way to get us out on the water. Captain Fred found spots all day long and we were catching fish after fish. For my first time out in the gulf, the experience with captain Fred makes me want to come back to Panama City Beach again just to go fishing with him! We'll be back for sure - and you should absolutely entrust captain Fred with a day out on the water for an unforgettable experience!
