For saltwater fishing off the Florida Panhandle look no further than Captain Fred Trotter. He has over 30 years of experience fishing off the Gulf of Mexico and knows exactly where to take you and what to do, to provide you with a great all-round fishing experience.
You'll be touring around on a 28ft Dusky. This center console was originally built in 2020 and is powered by twin 200s Suzuki engines, allowing you to cruise around the water up to 45 knots. It's got onboard fishfinder equipment and a live bait well to keep it nice and fresh for your fishing adventure.
You'll use a variety of techniques such as bottom fishing, trolling, and jigging to catch native species like Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper, and Redfish. Fishing for Amberjack is one of Captain Fred's favorite chases though and he offers specialized charters for this activity.
As well as a Florida fishing license he offers top of the range rods, reels, and lures to aid you in your quest of catching the biggest fish of the trip.
There's a hot sun on the Gulf of Mexico so be sure to pack your shades and plenty of sunscreen as well as extra drinks and snacks. No matter the fish you have in mind, Captain Fred will help you catch it along with many more.

Of course we wanted to and we had a great time. I do not think i would had enjoyed it with any other captain. He taught us a lot and we caught fish. i would highly recommend him for anyone of all ages. We will use him again.

We finished off the trip with a few more Mackerel to take home. Fred is a great captain. He let us get real hands on. We learned how to cast for the different types of fishing we did and how to take fish off the hook. Highly recommended. Will book again on the future.

4 Hour Trip — Captain's Pick on December 22, 2025 • 4 adultsbest fishing trip my kids have ever been on. several different species. rough water, boat handled it well. captain is legit. boat is perfect size. equipment was in great shape. from catching our own bait fish to paying the tax man (shark) it was an amazing day on the Gulf. look forward to next Christmas break so we can do it again. I would not waste time shopping, if captain Fred is available for your dates then book it.

Bad day to go fishing, definitely no ones fault but the weather. We had a heads us that it was going to be choppy. But decided to give it a try anyways. We booked a 6 hour trip, but after 2 and a half hours, we have had enough. Two people in the party was sick. Captain Fred is one hell of a captain though. He got us back and discounted our trip, which he did not have too. It was our choice to give it a try, after everyone else canceled their trip for the day, because of the rough water. I highly recommend him. Thank you and I hope one day we can do it again, of course when the ocean is calmer.

Capt. Fred put us on the fish in no time. Knowing I wanted some variety and a chance to target new species and big fish, we headed out for Amberjack. Didn’t take long and we were into AJ’s. A perfect day of fishing! Fred didn’t just fill the fish and call it a day. He listened to my preferencses and worked hard to tailor the experience to my expectations. I highly recommend Capt. Fred and We’re On Charters.

Capt. Fred was awesome!! He’s very knowledgeable of whats biting and where they’re at. The wife and I had a great time, from catching bait fish at the beginning to the experience of catching Amberjack at the end. I thought my hook got caught on a boat that passed by. Those fish are so powerful. They weren’t in season yet, so we caught and released. The boat was very comfortable and clean, he really has a nice set up. We will be calling this Captain again the next time that we are in town.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 25% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
