Northern Life Outfitters is here to offer the hottest bite in the coldest months! Take a fishing trip with Capt. Leo even when the lake is frozen. Ice fishing trips are available during winter, from the beginning of December to the end of March, although this varies each year.
Your adventure starts at Winnipeg, where your guide will pick you up and take you to your fishing spot at the lake. It takes at least an hour to reach your destination. You'll fish inside of a tent that has enough space for 4 anglers.
The list of fish you can catch is still long, even with temperatures below 0. Your targets of the day will be Crappie, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Yellow Perch, and Freshwater Drum. Unlike summer trips when you go after the fish, fishing in winter is a waiting game. You find a place, drill a hole in the ice, and wait for the bite. You get to keep the catch and the captain will clean it free of charge.
Kids are allowed to join as long as they are over 10 years old. Make sure to bring warm clothes, especially shoes and socks. You'll need to purchase your fishing license in advance and prepare lunch and drinks.
The captain will fully cover your Shimano fishing equipment and make sure there's a variety of lures to use.
Let Nother Life Outfitters show you how you can catch the tastiest fish in winter!

Captain Leo is a local who's been fishing his whole life. Leo started this business as a side business but it grew over time, and now it almost takes his full time! Seeing people catch their first fish is one of the most rewarding moments of this job. Leo works with captain Darren, who's runs some of the trips instead of him.
