Fall in love with the Florida Keys fishing scene with Captain Jay Charters. Blessed with a year-round fishing season, the adventure never stops here. Capt. Jay and Capt. Ben are ready to share this excitement with you!
Your adventure takes place on a 30’ Mako that accommodates up to 6 guests. She’s powered by twin 200 HP Suzuki engines which provide a fast and steady ride to your fishing spot. The boat also features modern navigational electronics, safety equipment, a live bait tank, and outriggers.
With versatile fishing grounds, there are lots of different fish species to go after. From all kinds of Snappers, Sharks, and Groupers to Tarpon and Spanish Mackerel. Reach the offshore spots and go after Mahi Mahi and Barracuda. If you have a specific species you want to target, it’s best to get in touch with the captain, so he can arrange a trip that will maximize your chances.
Even though there’s a catch limit, it’s more than enough to have an amazing feast after the trip. Your captain will clean your catch free of charge, so you can throw it on the grill as soon as you leave the marina. All rods, reels, lures, and bait are fully included in the price.
The captain also has bottled water on the boat, but feel free to bring other snacks and drinks. Bringing sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses is always recommended. Join Captain Jay Charters and see the Florida Keys from a different perspective.

4 Hour Trip – Tarpon (AM)
“Goliath” fishing trip
We booked this trip for my husbands 60th birthday. From beginning to end it was perfect. Our oldest daughter who didn’t know you couldn’t take a banana fishing because they are bad luck had one in her bag but Captain Dez asked before we started if anyone had a banana and he made her throw it in the water before she even got on the boat and he nicknamed her “banana girl”. It will be a great memory for us. We caught yellowtail snapper, strawberry, red, black and a Goliath grouper, which made my husbands day. Andrew was a great first mate. He kept all our hooks loaded with bait and was a great instructor on what we needed to do. Captain Dez filleted the fish we caught and we grilled it for dinner. I highly recommend this charter service 100%. We had a “Goliath” time.

Great day reef fishing with Capt. Dez!
I took my good friend fishing for her bachelorette and first ever fishing charter - Captain Dez did not disappoint! He was super friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. It truly felt like we were fishing with another one of our friends and we would highly recommend to anyone! We had to shift our plans a little to accommodate the weather but we had a fantastic time out and caught a ton of different species of fish, which made for an exciting day. Dez even let us know the local places that would help cook our fish up for us - which is usually hard to find while traveling and made for a great lunch! Whenever I’m back in the keys this will absolutely be my first stop.

3 Hour Trip – Family (AM)
First time experience
I booked a charter for myself, husband, and two adult children. We weren’t quite sure what to expect since this was our first time but Dez (our captain) was FANTASTIC! He set us up for success by changing our fishing spots when the fish weren’t as plentiful. We caught enough fish for two meals and had a blast while fishing! We caught quite the variety of fish - hound, lady, sand sharks, puffer, catfish (all those were thrown back ) and mangrove snapper and sea trout (those are the ones we ate! Dez went above and beyond to make sure we had an awesome time and caught many fish. Highly recommend!!

Unforgettable day
The day started out very windy. We got a text from the captain saying we’d delay the trip by an hour which proved to be a good decision. Capt. Randy gave a safety briefing and we were off. After about a 30 minute ride we hit our first spot with only 1 legal mangrove snapper and so we picked up and headed to another spot. The second spot was a little better. Capt. Randy put us on snappers and a few sharks. The third spot proved to be the charm. We caught grouper, out of season but a good fight. More Lane and Mangroves snappers. We even caught a few short yellow tails and short mutton’s. We had our grand daughter with us and he catered to her every need including answering a few hundred questions. By the end of the trip Randy even had her touching the fish including the sharks! If you have little kids on your trip and want to get them out fishing Captain Randy is your guy!

The best anniversary gift ever!!
My wife booked this surprise for my half century birthday. So it wasn’t the best day for fishing as you know mother nature still has some surprises for us. We met Dev our captain he explained everything and he offered even to rebook this fishing surprise for a couple days later but we already have everything set for our 4 days honeymoon anniversary . The sea was bumpy a little bit but finally we were able to find the right spot. That’s what happened when you got the right captain guy . A few hours fishing with a lot of fun . Dev has a lot of interesting stories. He is a very interesting guy . If you’re reading this review Dev . You’re the best bro. We highly recommend you for our friends. See you soon.
