Strictly Catalina Fishing
FinnCo Charters provides a great experience fishing Catalina Island! Choose between touring the front side for a generally calmer experience or try the backside trips for a heightened adventure.
Fish from a 30’ Proline walk around, that gets you to the island in a little over an hour, conditions permitting. Full electronics package onboard including a chartplotter, fish finder (sonar), and radar when conditions are not ideal. Bluetooth entertainment stereo system connects easily for you to listen on the water.
Loaded with 2 scoops of live fin bait, there’s plenty of bait to last all day. Some trips will have frozen sardines for chum and/or frozen squid for bottom dwellers. Fish cleaning is typically not included due to the number of fish caught and the amount of time taken away from fishing. There’s also a large cooler with ice to care for the catch.
Captain Finn offers 2 Catalina trips, split between frontside and backside of the island. If you’re unsure about making the 30-mile offshore trip, get in touch with the captain and he’ll help you choose the right day and show you where to see the marine forecast on your fishing date.
The boat has tackle available for use and all their gear is loaded with braided line and fluorocarbon. The majority of reels are level-wind, bait casters which are perfect for fly lining for those sought after pelagic species. Bring your own rods or try the crew’s (limit two personal rods per customer unless pre-authorization). They hold 16 rods easily on board.
Sodas and water are included in the price. You may also bring your own drinks, but limited to one med soft cooler per angler (cans and plastic only). Don’t forget to purchase your fishing license.

That's right! I said it! If you are looking for a Captain who really cares about the experience they give you, then there is no other person than Captain A! We stayed in constant communication, he asked important questions like "is anyone a lefty? Any dietary restrictions?" He really tries to customize your trip! He & his wife (who we did not meet) supplied the most amazing subs for Lunch and KFC for a light dinner, with PLENTY of snacks, waters and soda to support our long day! The gear was new, and in amazing condition and we are not disappointed! While the current wasn't in our favor for yellowfin, we DID catch 4 legal sized lobster! This was a trip that I surprised my husband with for our 21st Wedding anniversary and knowing that we will eat fresh lobster for our Anniversary dinner that WE caught is nothing short of amazing! Ken was a top-notch Deckhand who was doing his best to get us on fish, and really helped us in a big way with the lobstering and all around great conversation! I ended up getting extremely seasick when my dramamine wore off, but Captain A had a bed in his bow that helped me to sleep it off! (make sure to use the Dorado pillow! haha!!) They let me rest, while the men took over and continued their excursion! This team will make you feel like family-We will definitely book with them again when the water gets warmer (and I promise to bring more Dramamine! Thanks so much for making our day (and night) special! Cheers!

Had an awesome day with captain Finn! Great boat and great gear, there was no lack of fish being caught cannot wait to go again soon! Definitely recommend if you're trying to have a good time on the water!

Fantastic guided tour
Captain A made sure we got the species we wanted and reached the limit. We had a fun day. Other friends saw our pictures and were jealous.
Captain Finn has years of fishing experience and he gets even better fisherman with each passing season. He welcomes both novice and avid anglers on his boat and loves to share his knowledge.
