Electric City Fishing Charters is located in Anderson, SC. Captain Roth is the business owner and has been a licensed USCG boat captain and running fishing charters for the last 8 years and was born and raised on Lake Hartwell. With lots of experience and a friendly attitude, he can easily turn any beginner into a successful angler. You will be joining Captain Roth Mathews, Captain Tim Prosser, or Captain Jason Gibson on the trip. Regardless of your skill level – you’re going to upgrade them anyway with whatever Captain takes you out!

You’ll be fishing on a 21' Sportsman center console that accommodates up to 4 guests. She’s powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine and a wireless trolling motor. The boat also features modern navigational electronics, a live bait tank, and a cooler. Simple and functional, this boat has everything you need for a successful day on the water.

Choose your trip depending on how long you want to stay on the water. You and the captain will target Bass species such as Largemouth and Spotted Bass. You won't specifically target Hybrid/Striper but there is a chance you'll catch them as well. You'll use light tackle spinning gear. If you prefer bait casters, you may bring your own rods/reels. All trips offered are artificial baits/lures only, no live bait.

The captain covers your rods, reels, lures, and tackle. You’ll need to prepare your fishing license before the trip starts and pack some snacks and drinks. Customers are allowed to keep their catch, or catch and release. However, the captain does not clean the fish after the trip.

Find out why Bass is the most popular freshwater fish in the US. Electric City Fishing Charters is ready to take you on this adventure!

Hybrid fest
4-Hour Afternoon (Saturday-Sunday) on March 9, 20251 adult1 child
Alright, listen up, folks! Your old man's just back from a fishin' trip with Electric City Charters in Anderson, South Carolina, and let me tell ya, it was reel-y something! Get it? Reel-y? chuckles and pats knee Now, I've seen a lot of water in my time, more than a fish in a barrel, that's for sure. But this trip, with Captain Joe, was somethin' special. He knew Lake Hartwell like the back of his hand, or maybe like a fish knows its favorite weed bed. He had us on the fish faster than you can say "honey-do list." Speaking of fish, we hauled in some beauties! We landed a grand total of... counts on fingers, mumbles... a whole lotta hybrid bass and largemouth! Let's just say, we had so many, my arms felt like they'd been doin' curls with a bowling ball! We're talkin' a solid nine hybrid bass, each one fightin' like it owed us money, and six hefty largemouth. Enough for a fish fry that'd make your mother-in-law say, "That's pretty good, I guess." Captain Joe was a real character, too. He kept the jokes comin' faster than a school of minnows. "Why don't fish play basketball?" he asked. "Because they're afraid of the net!" winks and nudges you Classic! He knew exactly where to cast, what bait to use, and when to tell a knee-slapper. It was like he had a fishin' radar and a joke generator built right into his brain. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. He had all the gear we needed, and even threw in a few pointers that’ll have me catchin’ fish in my sleep. And the scenery? Forget about it! Lake Hartwell is a sight for sore eyes, even if you’re only lookin’ at it while tryin’ to untangle a bird's nest of fishing line. If you're lookin' for a fun, productive, and downright enjoyable fishin' experience, Electric City Charters is the place to go. You’ll be hooked, line, and sinker! And hey, remember, life’s too short to fish with a bad captain. Go get ‘em! gives a thumbs-up and a hearty laugh

Afternoon SPECIAL (Monday-Friday) on September 12, 20251 adult2 children
This was a four-hour excursion as a birthday present for my 12-year-old grandson. We also brought along one of his best friends, who loves fishing. I understand that fish are never guaranteed, but we barely had even nibbles. Obviously, it’s difficult to keep boys entertained when there is no excitement on the boat. We ended up leaving a half hour early. It would have been nice to have tried a few other areas on the lake during the four hours in order to hopefully get some bites. The Captain was friendly and communicative throughout the process.

Afternoon SPECIAL (Monday-Friday) on June 12, 20252 adults
Captain Tim killed it! Brought my 16 year old daughter and her friend. It was a slow day on the lake for everyone but us. Really nice sized fish throughout the trip in multiple locations.
