Top Predator Adventures
Top Predator Adventures is dedicated to make your trip as successful and memorable as possible. Captain Cody Dakin has over 18 years of experience fishing the Charleston area and with him by your side, you can count on catching something that tastes great and/or pulls hard! Or if you are looking for a Charleston experience that the typical beach goer doesn't see, island hopping where you can search for sharks teeth and sand dollars is a great way to spend an afternoon!
You will make your way around Charleston harbor on a 24' Ranger Bayboat powered by a Yamaha outboard engine. The vessel can carry up to 6 adult guests comfortably. Kids 6 and older are recommended.
The time of year will play a role in which fish are likely to be caught and what type of charter pairs well with that targeted fish. The Captain wants your trip to be successful in every way possible so he will contact you prior to the trip to make sure there is a solid game plan for the day. Typical inshore fishing trips could include Redfish, Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Sharks. Seasonal bull Redfish and sharks give you the opportunity to catch big fish on big tackle.
Included in the charter are all top-quality rods and reels, bait, tackle, and ice. You are encouraged to bring whatever you would like to eat or drink in a small soft cooler. A large cooler will be provided. Proper clothing ensures an enjoyable experience as well as a good supply of sunscreen. All fishing licenses are provided.
Captain Cody hopes to see you out on the water to chase a Top Predator!

We needed to get out so I booked our trip with Captain Cody. I did reach out to him to verify his willingness to allow me participation based on my sight, fall risk etc. he replied with a resounding “YES! NO PROBLEM!” I didn’t expect much more than to be “planted in my seat” to enjoy a sore fanny, crispy turkey neck and shoulders. BUT THATS NOT CAPTAIN CODY’s PLAN! He briefed me quickly with the configuration of the boat, and how we would work out a bite on my line. In an age where most people spend more time communicating, networking, eating etc with machines and computer generated EVERYTHING, I was amazed, surprised, and downright impressed with Captain Cody’s determination coupled with compassion ensured my experience was just as memorable as any sighted person. And WE yup with Captain Cody’s hand of direction we, that means me too! Caught sharks to include 4 hammer heads, tying his trip records! Now I am able to say “This blind girl fought and caught SHARKS” I cannot convey in words what a wonderful soul renewing time it was! Thanks again, Captain Cody!

It was so hot that chickens were laying hard boiled eggs in Charleston, SC however we still caught fish. I am not certain how but we did. Cody is a pro in everything he does. When I come to Charleston now I only fish with him. I have used guides all over the country and I cannot remember one I have used as good as Cody. We caught a mixed bag of fish from redfish to trout to flounder to a whole lot of misc. stuff. Good time with good friends with a great captain. Book with Cody and quit looking for other people. You will not be sorry.
Man. Brought my 5 yo daughter and young nehphew for their first fishing trip on the sea. Kody was an absolute pro with our kids and patient beyond belief helping them catch several fish. He also took us to more than one spot to make sure we found some great shells and sharks teeth. Our family is still talking about how fun this was. As a fisherman too- his knowledge of the local terrain, spots, currents and history is what you pay for. Looking forward honest year already. You’re an idiot if you don’t book with Kody.

It was great meeting you guys! See you next year.
This was by far our best fishing trip! We cough sharks, red fish, blue fish, lady fish and a trout. We were so tired from catching and fighting with so many red fish our hands and arms were sore 😂. I think over all we cought at least 10 - 15 red fish within 2 hours. The captin was great giving us pointers that we really appreciated and was even fishing and goofing around with us. Which made the experience personal and even funner for us! Would definitely recommend this Captain to anyone and well be doing it again in the future! Our trip will forever be remembered as our favorite!!!
Cody was a professional through and through. It was unseasonably cold and after catching a nice red on the first cast, the fishing turned off. Luckily, he has years of experience fishing the area. He moved us to spot after spot until we found the right one. My son and I caught over 40 fish mostly reds, sheepshead and some black drum. Captain Cody will be my first call next time I'm in the area and he should be yours also. He was a great Captain and and also a fun personable guy to fish with.

Captain Cody Dakin has been fishing the creeks around Charleston since he was a little boy. The thrill of a big fish on the line brings pure joy to his face and the ultimate goal is for you to experience it too! Any day on the water is a good day.
