We had a great day on the water with Captain Andrew. We wanted to do something that would appeal to both 2 adults and kids (12f, 10m, 6m, 4f) and this trip was a hit. We started the day with clamming which none of us had done before, and after a quick lesson we all had a great time finding clams which we could keep, and some scallops and oysters we couldn't keep due to regularions. This was followed by a trip to a few islands: one for shell hunting and another for shark tooth hunting. The kids had plenty of time for this and playing in the water. Captain Andrew even took the time to teach us how to use our cast net which one of the kids wanted to bring along. When we were done hunting for teeth and collecting shells we went back to check the crab pots, seeing dolphins on the way. We hauled.in the crab pots and found an unexpected variety of crabs and fish. There were blue crabs, stone crabs, spider crabs, calico crabs, and hermit crabs in the pot, and we had already seen fiddler.and ghost crabs earlier. We ended up taking home 50 clams and about a dozen crabs and claws. Steamed everything up for dinner. Candidate z Andrew was knowledgeable. Informative, patient, and engaging. Everyone had a great day.
I’m glad you guys had a good time! Come on back any time!
This trip was perfect our family (3 kids ages 8, 6, and 4). Andrew is super down to earth and great with the kids. We found lots of clams and crabs. The kids will be talking about this trip for months. I cannot recommend it enough!
This is our third trip with Capt Andrew and won’t be our last! If you’re looking for a fun, family day on the water go with First Due Charters! Andrew is born and raised on Emerald Isle and has extensive knowledge that he’ll share with you throughout the day, great time!
So glad to have you guys came back! It’s always a pleasure! Thank you again!
Andrew has a great setup that is comfortable yet built for purpose. Within minutes of launching we were shuffling through the Bogue mud trying to feel out clams with our toes. Ended up doing pretty well I think. A nice boat ride under the E.I. bridge and off to find sharks teeth. Found out stingrays have teeth also! Moved a bit to a nice beach to shell hunt and then off to check crab pots. Listen to the man and don’t have your fingers in the wrong place is all I can say😉 Overall it was a great experience. Our six year old loved it and was absolutely exhausted once we were done. Thank you again to Captain Andrew! You’ve got an amazing thing going that I would recommend to anyone
Thank you for the awesome review! I’m really glad you guys enjoyed the day. Come back any time!
We had an absolutely amazing time with Captain Andrew! He made the whole day enjoyable for everyone on the trip, from sassy teenagers to my 45 going on 85 year old sister. We will definitely be returning!
