Head out to St. Petersburg, Florida and visit Westward Outfitters LLC for a lovely fishing experience. Captain Weston Ulrich will take you inshore and nearshore so you can explore the fish-rich waters as well as the backcountry, flats, and reefs. Enjoy a beautiful day in nature and have lots of fun catching many different species!

You’ll start your trip on a 24’ Ranger bay boat that can sit up to 4 anglers. It’s powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine and it uses modern GPS, fishfinding, and radio systems for navigation. The boat has got a wireless trolling motor for a more tactful approach and is equipped with a livewell and an ice-box.

There’s a wide variety of fish to pack your coolers with. You can catch Snook, Redifsh,Speckled Trout, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Kingfish, Tarpon, as well as other interesting species. You’ll be using light tackle and will target your prey by bottom fishing and spinning. You can keep the fish you catch and have tasty meals at home, but you’re also free to release it back to the water if you wish so. You’re also welcome to bring along kids and surprise them with a wonderful experience out on the sea.

Captain Weston will supply you with all the rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and lures. He’ll cover you for licenses as well and will clean and fillet your catch so you can take home some great table fare.

Captain Weston may not be the oldest captain in the fleet, but growing up in St. Petersburg makes him as experienced as a 20-year veteran. He was highly knowledgeable about the annual movements of the fish we were targeting and all of the food and nutrients that determine where our catches were and what they were feeding on. He was calling the shots on where to cast and could almost count down the second we were going to get our bites. If you are going to go on a charter with Captain Weston (which I highly recommend), call him a day or two in advance to talk about what the tide is going to be like on the day of your trip to plan the best time to maximize your catch.

Half day AM Inshore Fishing Trip

My brother and I took my two boys (9 and 11 years old) fishing with Weston, and we had a blast! Caught lots of fish, saw dolphins and manatees, and even feed dolphins from the side of the boat. Weston had several good spots we went to and ensured we always had bait on our lines, we always had our lines in the water, and in the right spots. I was very impressed how diligently he worked to help my boys manage their lines (rebaiting, casting, realing in,...). We'll be coming back!

Great Day of Fishing with Captain Weston

Half Day Trip (AM) on December 31, 2021

Went on a half day fishing trip with Captain Weston starting early in the morning. He took us to several spots throughout Tampa Bay where we caught Snook, Redfish, Trout, and a couple other species. He had a full live well full of fresh bait he had caught early that morning right when we arrived. He got us onto fishing spots extremely quickly, was willing to bait our hooks, unhook fish, untangle lines, give us casting tips, and anything else we wanted to make it an easy and fun experience. I have been on numerous fishing charters throughout Florida and have never caught anywhere near as many fish as I did with Captain Weston. He truly knows fishing, Tampa Bay, and how to handle a charter trip extremely well. I highly recommend Captain Weston's charter for a productive and fun day of fishing.
