My two teenage granddaughters elected a fishing excursion over Disneyland. 

We taken them out with EZ Sportfishing three years ago and they wanted to go again.  We included their cousin, my 7 year old grandson this time.  The girls got in the groove right away and were pretty much self sufficient a few minutes after we started fishing.  Eric and Randy were always attentive and ready to step in and lend a hand if needed but let the girls bait their hooks and reel in their fish themselves. 
What impressed me the most was the time Eric and Randy spent instructing my grandson on his first fishing jaunt.  One or the other were always by his side and were incredibly patient and helpful.  While the fish my grandson caught were nothing to write home about, to a seven year old, reeling in a guppy by himself is a big deal!  He must have reeling in nearly 30 fish in the space of a couple hours.  By the time he was tuckered out and dropped out to nap, he was baiting his own hook and throwing in his own line…..with Eric or Randy always hoovering nearby. 
None of the fish we caught were very impressive, a few large enough to keep.  The older girls wished they’d pulled up moby dick or equivalent but they still had a great time.

Fishing was Great! The Captain and his Crew mate Helped us catch Calico bass during our time fishing in Catalina Area. They were accomodating to help us giving us tips and tricks on how to catch fish Even though we were beginners for fishing.Would highly recomend booking this fishing trip when you have a chance!

Eric and Randy were awesome!  They picked us up right on time, took us out and as soon as we we anchored up we were catching fish!  After limiting out, they were even nice enough to taxi us over to the marina on Catalina to have drinks with some friends of mine!
Caught an uncountable amount of Bass, a few Bonita, and one Yellow tail that was a fight of a lifetime to witness. 
If you want to catch fish, learn a thing or two and have a great time, I highly recommend booking your charter with EZ Sportfishing.

We booked the shark special and Eric being the pro he is, suggested we keep an open mind to switch tactics in case the sharks were not around due to recent weather. Well we got a nice shark and then continued the rest of the trip to go get some nice halibut (and a few scorpion fish too which was cool and unique for a couple midwestern guys).
All in all we had a blast and would (will) book with these guys again. They know the conditions and what/where to get fish. Be flexible and they will put you in position to catch some beautiful fish and give you a great memory to hold on to.

Pros

1.  The captain and crew were knowledgeable and helpful. 
2.  Learned some good pointers from the crew.
3. There were five of us and we did catch a total of 20 fish for the day.
4. Productive and mostly had a fun day

Cons

1. I was not told ahead of time that there were a $250 fuel surcharge.  This should be clearly pointed out in the total fee and not while we’re on the boat.
2. One of my guests got really sea sick all day and threw up over the side of the boat.  Some of what came out got on the boat and the crew wasn’t too happy and talked about it.  If you want to bad mouth a paying guest, don’t do it while other guests are around, especially when all paying guests are family.  Bad form.
