You'll fish from a 45' Sheldon Midgett offshore sport fishing boat that can sit up to 6 guests and is powered by a 660 HP Cumming M11 engine that can reach a maximum cruising speed of 27 knots. The boat's navigation gear includes all the modern GPS, fishfinder, radio, and radar systems that allow for safe and quick reaching the fish. The boat's got a flybridge, toilet, as well as beds, and it also features air-conditioning, a multimedia system, and an ice-box. When it comes to the fishing equipment, there are outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and a livewell. Finally, a first mate will also join your trip so you have the best possible service while on board.
Hatteras is known for its rich and varied fisheries, and with species such as Bluefin Tuna, Amberjack, Marlin, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Snapper, Triggerfish, and many more, you'll have an excellent opportunity to make a big catch. Had a blast today with Captain Jay and Matt. If an Old School Captain is what you’re looking for he’s your man ! Not only was he well prepared beforehand, asking us the day before to come early so we could outrun the major storms that morning but also he and Matt were troopers when we did have to pass through a few periods of rain, keeping us dry in the cabin while they did the work to keep our rigs in the water. Had our limit of Mahi by 8am and spent the rest of the day filling the boat with Wahoo and Tuna. We’ll be back next year for sure !
