The Charter Doctor is proud to offer the ultimate experience in Giant Bluefin Tuna fishing. Captain Mark and his crew operate out of beautiful Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and offer full-day fishing charters that include a mix of Giant Tuna fishing as well as bottom fishing. Clients are usually very happy to bring home a variety of delicious fish from their day at sea. You may see whales, sharks, and sometimes dolphins.
You'll be fishing aboard a 36' Northern Bay that accommodates up to 5 guests. This boat is powered by a mighty 700 HP Volvo engine that reaches the speed of 22 knots and allows you to reach fishing grounds usually within an hour. The vessel offers plenty of comfort and the ability to get inside out of the sun or weather should you want to relax inside.
The goal is for you to have fun while you catch the biggest fish! Besides Bluefin Tuna, you can also go after Haddock, Pollock, Mackerel, Cod, and Herring. You'll most probably fish on the famous Stellwagen Bank and Jeffey's Ledge.
The crew provides all you will need to fish and catch! Your charter will include all equipment, permits, rods, bait, and more for your successful day at sea. You also get to keep the catch and the crew will clean it for you free of charge.
A trip with The Charter Doctor is available between June and mid-October. Make sure to secure your spot on the boat on time and have an adventure of a lifetime!

Had a blast chasing giant tuna for the day. We got over 20 marks, saw schools of tuna jumping out of the water chasing bait and even got to see some whales. We never hooked up but I can assure you it wasn’t from lack of effort by the crew. I will be back for sure.
Had a nice time with Capt Mark celebrating my twin brothers 60th Birthday Great location for the boat near Portsmouth, NH Started a the day at 0600. Saw whales and seals on the way out. Anchored up and caught some live bait. Mark and Paul know their craft, are professional and friendly. Boat is well appointed for 10-12 hours of fishing. Although we didn’t catch a giant blue fin. We did catch two blue sharks and a large thresher. We will try again next year for sure!
I did a full day trip with my 2 sons (15 and 16 yrs old) and my father. We had a fantastic trip with Captain Mark and Paul. The boys loved fishing for the live bait and then very quickly we were into a bluefin tuna estimated to be 9 feet long. We fought the fish for the next 4 hours and had an experience that we will never forget. I look forward to booking with Captain Mark for next year.
