Come visit Pacific Roots Adventures and fish the famous Buoy 10 fishery out of Astoria, Oregon! You will be targeting trophy fish as well as enjoy the beautiful nature that embraces this whole area. You will be in the safe hands of Captain Kyle Uptegrove, a skilled angler who will guide you and make sure you have a great day on the water, so come aboard and see what the might Columbia River has to offer!

You will be fishing out of a new 23' Alumaweld aluminum fishing boat big enough to accommodate up to 12 guests. It is powered by a 149 HP Mercury engine and uses modern GPS as well as fishfinder technology that allows for a safe and efficient trip to the fish and back.

You and the captain will chase fish by trolling and your targets will be prized Coho and Chinook Salmon as well as Sturgeon. If you want to, you're free to keep the fish you catch and take it home to enjoy delicious meals. If not, simply release it back into the water. You can also bring kids on your trip as it can be a great opportunity for you to have a wonderful family stay in nature.

Captain Kyle will provide you with the rods, best G Loomis and Shimano reels, tackle, bait, as well as snacks, freshly brewed coffee, and a good time! He will also clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip. The only thing you should bring is your fishing license.

Nehalem trip was quick and fun

Bottom line, Kyle is laid back but smart, from my perspective he’s a refreshing mix of young yet experienced, kind vibe and successful angler. I’m not a big review leaver type but he deserves it.  All fishing can be a crap shoot, and yeah we hit a good moment for the fish run, plus I limited out in an hour so I may be biased, that being said, I’m really glad I went out with Kyle cause it was the right type of ambition fishing and patient experience and chill vibe that I needed.  I had a great time.

We had a wonderful time fishing sturgeon! Our captain Kyle suggested we try sturgeon fishing instead of salmon as fishing for salmon was really slow. Our party of 4 each caught one!  Crazy fun trying to reel in!! Kyle was outstanding. Would highly recommend and also gave us a great recommendation for donuts!! Thanks LeRoy, Josie, Ped, Becky

Kyle was able to accommodate our family of 10 with two boats, one of them captained by his friend Caleb. We had two kids, ages 6 and 8, in our boat. Kyle was so good with these kids.
