Westcoast Fish Expeditions offers you year-round fishing trips out of Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada. You’ll embark on its fish-rich waters and have a great time chasing fish and enjoying gorgeous nature. Captain Matt Olcen will give you all the help you need to have an enjoyable experience on the water, so book your trip and have fun fishing!

The boat you’ll be fishing from is a 26’ Grady White saltwater fishing boat with space for up to 4 anglers. It’s powered by two 300 HP Yamaha engines and uses GPS, fishfinder, radio, as well as radar technology for navigation. The boat’s equipped with downriggers and outriggers and it features a toilet and an ice-box.

Your captain specializes in catching Halibut and Salmon but you can target many other species as well, including Black Rockfish, Albacore Tuna, Crab, Rockfish, and Lingcod.

Apart from bottom and deep sea fishing, you can also try trolling, spinning, jigging, and drift fishing in order to catch your prey. All the fish you catch is yours to keep if you want it and you’re welcome to bring your kids along for the ride.

All the rods, reels, tackle, live bait, as well as lures will be ready for you when you arrive and Capt. Matt will gladly clean and fillet your catch so you can easily take it home. What you should bring for your trip are fishing licenses, food, and drinks.

Come join Westcoast Fish Expeditions and have a great time on the water!

We took the advice and let Captain Matt take us where he knew there were fish instead of sticking to our original plan. We all caught our limits and had a lot of fun doing it. Will use again and recommend to my friends. Thanks for the great memories Captain Matt!

3/4 Day with Captain Matt

We spent two 3/4 days with Matt. The weather was good. The captain and first mate Bow, short for Bowline, (dog) were good company. Captain Matt is very experienced and knowledgeable and he put us on fish. We have our own boat and we do fresh and saltwater angling. We have also been on lots of charters around North America and the Caribbean. Our experience with Captain Matt was one of the best. We were comfortable with his direction and instruction - He wants you to catch fish. Listen and don’t take anything too seriously. It was a good time!

Went out with Graham for halibut as the salmon was a bit slow for the time we went. Had a great time and limited out and then came home and fried up a fillet! Everyone was great to deal with and we had a great time
