Shore Thing Charters offers 3,4,5 hour fishing trips for private charters of up to 6 passengers maximum in the waters around Ocean City New Jersey.
Top targets include Flounder, Black Seabass, Tog, striper and more, depending on the season.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children under 13 must wear life vests, and we have these aboard. Bring your lunch or snacks.
You’ll find yourself aboard a 27’ World Cat catamaran with twin 250 Hondas that can crusie up to 30 MPH and carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a private flush toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, bait, and tackle are included. The for hire charter boat license in NJ covers your fishing license but keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen lotion (non-spray please as the spray kind stains the fiberglass).

Wonderful crew and trip
5 HR Ocean Flounder to 10 miles on July 3, 2025 • 5 adults
We took a family 5hr morning trip out to the Ocean City NJ reef. Captain Mike and 1st mate Tommy were very friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. They patiently taught us how to fish the reef and constantly kept our lines repaired and hooks baited. Everyone in our group caught fish including 3 keeper flounder that Captain Mike filleted for us and gave us pointers how to cook. A great experience. Will definitely book with him again.

Simple, Fun, and Family Friendly!
3 Hour Trip – Family Bay Fishing AM on August 4, 2025 • 2 adults • 4 children
We took four kids under the age of ten out with captain Mike and it was great! His boat was steps from where we parked. We hopped right on the boat and we were fishing within 15 minutes! He knew all the drifts, so we were catching a lot of fish! The kids had a blast!! They baited our rods and unhooked our fish. It was awesome! Definitely recommend!
