Locked with Lorensen is owned and operated by a local family man, Ryan Lorensen, in the Oswego County area. He offers trips for any NYS freshwater species that you would like to target. There is no experience required to go on one of these trips and even if it’s your first time fishing, Ryan is confident that he can get you hooked up and having a good time.
You’ll be fishing on a 18’ driftwood that accommodates up to 3 guests. This drift boat features navigational electronics, a live bait tank, and a cooler.
Your guide Ryan is an expert when it comes to catching trophy Salmon and Trout out of the world-famous Salmon river throughout all of fall and spring. There are also lots of other species you can target here, so you can go after Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Walleye, Musky, Bowfin, and many more. There are also guided ice fishing trips, but that’s a story for the winter.
All of the bait and tackle needed is covered by the captain. After the trip, he’ll also clean and fillet your catch if you request it prior. You’ll need to prepare your fishing licenses and pack your food and drinks for the day.

Excellent fishing experience
My husband and I recently went out on a trout fishing charter and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Captain Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about fishing, which made the trip both fun and educational. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. We hit great spots, and within a half hour we were already reeling in some beautiful trout. With my limited experience, Captain Ryan gave great tips on technique and helped make sure everyone on board had a chance to land something. What really stood out was his attention to detail. He put us right on the fish—within his knowledge of the water, weather patterns, and trout behavior really set this trip apart from others I’ve been on. Ryan is committed to providing his clients an excellent angling experience and a great day out. He knows the river and we hooked into many steelhead trout of all sizes. We drifted and plugged and were in fishing mode all day. When you hook fish on Ryan’s boat, he is very patient and provides steady instruction to give you the best chance of landing your fish to the boat. I like to fish hard but have fun too and Ryan has the personality to accommodate both speeds leading to a very enjoyable day. Captain Ryan was exceptional! We booked a 6-hour trip, but Ryan generously extended our time by an extra hour without us even asking. His extensive knowledge of the river and local species was impressive—he knew exactly where to take us, and we ended up catching two steelheads. The boat was comfortable and well-equipped, with a heater in the front to keep you warm. What truly set Ryan apart from other guides was his dedication and work ethic. He was constantly busy, whether fixing rods, untangling lines, or rowing the boat. Ryan was committed to making the trip memorable, and he exceeded all expectations.
