Our family of 11 had an awesome 6hr trip today with Lawrence and Mike.  We spent the 1st half of the trip bottom fishing and the 2nd half of the day inshore shark fishing.  Captain Lawrence kept us on the fish all day, and the first mate Mike constantly worked to to keep us baited up and worked relentlessly cutting bait and removing fish we caught.  We ended up catching about 40-50 Black Sea bass, a large barracuda, and 4 sharks (two of which measured 5.5-6ft).  They filleted all our fish and shark, and we came home with a ton of meat.  These guys were also two of the nicest guys to be out on the water with, and were really engaging with the whole family.  The boat had plenty of fishing space, and the canopy for shade was key, as it was a pretty hot day we went out.  We will definitely be booking with them again the next time we are down Myrtle beach, and highly recommend them especially for families with large groups as the boat can take up to 20 passengers.

Captain Lawrence is the best captain for any fishing trip (gulf stream, 4-, 6- or 8-hour trip) you wish to take! We have booked at least one, sometimes two to three (weather dependent) trips a year to go out with Lawrence for several years and will continue to book with him in the future. We start early, always catch a nice load of fish, and enjoy the hospitality and attentiveness of Lawrence and Mike (mate)! Lawrence isn’t like your ordinary captain; he is out there making sure you are having a good time and catching fish!!  If you want a good time, family fun, love to reel in lots of fish and big fish, and the possibility of experiencing catching a fish of a lifetime (i.e., Mahi Mahi, wahoo, cobia, king, etc.), take the time to book with Lawrence of the Long Line Charters. We were a little hesitant when the Mate, Mike told us we would be fishing for big sharks since we had young children(11-7). They assured us everything would be fine, and boy was it! It was just a short sail to the ocean once Lawrence was at the wheel. Mike was explaining the boat and the safety rules, while he setup the net they were going to drag for bait.
We all had a blast with this net, let me tell you. Mike coaxed a couple of the teenagers to help pulling the net in and that was the funniest thing me and the wife saw all vacation. My daughter even sat down in the live well, trying to get leverage, but got her self soaked instead. It was great. Lawrence and Mike emptied the net onto the deck and stuff went everywhere. The kids were trying to wrangle the fish we were using for bait, while we were all mesmerized by the horseshoe crab. This was far better petting than at the aquarium.
While we were learning about all the creatures that came up, they had already baited and set lines out. Lawrence was just explaining how it would happen, when it happened! One of the rods folded in half. I never expected it to happen that quick. That set the pace for the next couple hours. We even had 3 hooked at once and got them all to the boat. We were only allowed to keep one shark for the boat, but we caught 13.
These guys know what they are doing and get it done. We had a big day planned on the beach after the trip, but we were so worn out from reeling, and so full from eating our shark that most of us just hang around the condo. Coming to do it again in July.
