Lucky Strike Charters
North Carolina is one of the gems of the eastern coast of the US for fishing. Due to its fantastic location, fishermen have been able to reach the Gulf Stream and fish for pelagics in a fraction of the time it would normally take them. With Lucky Strike Charters, you can do the same.
Climb aboard their 40' offshore sport fishing vessel, built by the capable Key West manufacturer, restored in 2004. It's powered by a massive 660HP Caterpillar engine, allowing her to reach a speed of 30 knots. This speed makes her one of the fastest charter boats in the area, wasting no time in getting you to the fishing waters. She's also capable of holding up to 12 anglers fishing at the same time, perfect if you're planning an organized trip for organizations.
Captain Ed Elliot is an experienced fisherman and charter operator, being a second-generation fisherman. Combined with the fact that Lucky Strike Charters has over 40 years of experience chartering local waters, you are in solid hands to have an excellent fishing adventure. All the required equipment for your chosen trip is provided by the charter operators. This charter offers a fantastically varied set of trips: from great starting experiences such as bottom fishing for Groupers by the coast, all the way to fighting Yellowfin tuna on serious offshore trips, going up to 90 miles!
Lucky Strike Charters gladly welcomes anglers of all skill levels and has a trip for you, whether you're holding a rod for the first time or gearing up to hook that Marlin in. There's no minimum age policy for children, all sizes of life vests are provided. The crew will provide catch cleaning and filleting service free of charge.
Versatility is their forte, so free cancellation is available up until 1 day before the trip starts.

TLTR: Great experience, 5 STAR, HIGHLY recommended. 6 hours trip in afternoon for 6 people. 2 adults, 2 teens, and 2 pre teens (11 &8). everyone caught atleast one fish each. Crew was great!!! The long now... Want out. Captain Ed and his firstate, Brian (Mongo) we awesome. We have been on multiple fishing trips now and this was the first time we were asked what we wanted to do or catch. Sounds odd to us but cool thing as we want to eat what we caught so we focused on that. Started of with trolling. Picked up 4 nice fish. Then went to do bottom and got a ton of nibbles, a few on the hook, and a couple of nice keepers. Then back to trolling on the way in and pick up 3 more. We were beyond happy even though the first mate kept apologizing for not being more fish lookong to be hooked. The only low was the heat... we went out and the first 3.5 to 4 hours were a bit rough on temperature but nothing the crew could have controlled. This led to a few of the family members getting sick and our little one did not make it into a bucket. We tried to clean it up but the First mate refused to let us and took it on himself. 6 stars for sure!. On the way in the Captain let the kids upin the pilot house and gave a small but fun lesson is captaining a boat. Back pier side, Captian talked with us as the first mate cleaned the fish. The mate even showed the kids feed the pier pelican the scraps by hand, which they loved. We have a rule never to fish with same charter twice, but next time we are back... we are breaking that rule and going out with Lucky Strike again! Ed and Brian thank you all for a great trip and some great core memories for the kids!

Thank you for the great review we enjoyed having you guys on board with us and we are looking forward to the next time you come aboard.
This was a trip our family will never forget. we brought our parents and 3 young boys on the trip. Mongo, the first mate was fabulous! He was funny and engaging and let the kiddos even catch the bait fish. Each kid caught a spanish mackerel. Captain Ed, let us pick what we wanted to target for the day and the kids picked sharks. Captain Ed put us in the right spot, Mongo hooked ‘em up, and it was fish on! Took everyone to help get the over 7’ spinner shark on the boat. Not long after we caught a 5 1/2” black tip shark and a small dog shark. The fish tales will be legendary.

thank you glad you enjoyed your trip. Hope see you soon.
weather was nice, sea was calm, we trolled for spanish mackerel for an hour or so which we caught for our eating fish. after that they set us up for shark fishing and they put up a great fight getting them to the boat an on the boat. captain ed and first mate dan took good care of us, cleaned our fish and when we asked them about a hook and cook restaurant in the area they recommended one, so we drove our catch to the restaurant and had fresh grilled spanish mackerel for lunch. great day!!!

thank you glad you enjoyed your trip. Hope to see you soon.
Wow! Shipmate Brian and Captain Ed were accommodating in working with our limited schedule to help us get the best experience possible! My avid fisherman, husband wanted to target shark, (my request was to catch a hammerhead) they delivered! And our daughter, and son-in-law caught their biggest fish yet! When spending several hours out on the water, a bathroom is a must for me, and moving out quickly to find great fishing spots, not having to spend all your time traveling-made the boat and knowledgeable, Captain and shipmate worth every penny! I will definitely be booking with them for our future fishing trips! We give them two thumbs up! And five stars!

thank you glad you enjoyed your trip. Hope to see you soon.
To say this was an incredible and unique experience would be an understatement. We were looking for a family fishing trip where we would catch fish and have memories to last a life time. We accomplished both! The captain and first mate(Mango) went above and beyond to deliver that experience! They were attentive, entertaining and took very good care of us. We caught over 50 fishes and were able to bring 24 home! We are already talking about scheduling out next trip with them. If you don't book your fishing trip with them, you are making a big mistake. Thanks guys and we look forward to the next trip!

thank you glad you enjoyed your trip. Hope to see you soon.
