On The Rum Charters
Capt. Ellison will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 4-hour trips, mainly fishing for Redfish, Snook, Pompano, Spotted Seatrout, Black Drum, and Groupers, depending on the season and conditions on the day.
Your boat for the day will be a 26' Sea Chaser that fits up to 4 anglers at any one time. The boat comes with a toilet and wireless trolling motor. All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that's up to you is to use it as best you can. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. You can keep anything you catch, as long as it's legal to do so.
The boat will be supplied with drinks for your pleasure, be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own. Children are welcome aboard so you're good to get the young ones started early.

He told funny stories all the while, and even filleted our catch at end of trip. We couldn’t have made a better pick for our inland fishing excursion! We will definitely get down this way another time….may even plan our next trip just to do it all again…but ONLY with Captain Ellison!

Half Day Trip – Inshore (PM) on September 8, 2022 • 2 adultsBy far one of my favorite fishing experiences to date. Me and my girlfriend are from Ohio and we’re down here on vacation. I am a pretty avid fishermen back home but don’t know too much about saltwater fishing and captain Ellison was great. He answered all my questions with ease and my girlfriend didn’t have much fishing experience and he was very patient and knowledgeable as to getting my girlfriend some fish as well. Our charter we were originally suppose to go out on cancelled on us that morning… captain Ellison took our trip last second and I couldn’t have been more grateful!! I told him exactly what I had wanted to fish for which was a snook and a redfish because I’ve always wanted to catch one for as long as a I could remember and conditions were not the best but me put me on to both of my bucket list fish with ease. No questions asked he took me to the spots for the fish and the rest was history!!!! Even got me on my first sea trout as well completing my first back country slam!!! Super awesome trip and wether you’re an experienced fisherman or not!!! Can’t express how much I appreciate the trip and will never forgot who put me onto my first snook and redfish!!!

Ellison and his first mate, Frankie, took us backwater fishing and we caught 6 species of fish including Bluefish, Mangrove Snapper, Sheephead, Catfish, Sea Trout, and Pompano. Wife Amy was concerned about being out on the water and he made her feel very comfortable and at ease with being out in the Gulf. We highly recommend Captain Ellison and can’t wait to be able to come back to Florida to go back out with him again. Even though we did not catch a ton of fish we were able to catch some sea trout, red snapper, lady fish and a small bonnet head shark. Captain Ellison made a great effort to give us a smooth ride and ensured my father could minimize painful movements. I will use On the Rum again!!!

I booked a charter with Capt. Cribb on 7/7/25. My wife, father in law, and 16 year old son joined the trip. Capt. Cribb assisted my wife and son, who had somewhat limited fishing experience, with anything they needed. He was very engaged the whole trip and explained the what, why, and how of what species we were targeting. No question went unanswered and we felt at home on his boat. Boat was comfortable enough for four ppl to fish out of and is rigged nicely with gear and electronics. We caught several Mangrove Snapper and Trout. If you are ever in the Bonita Springs area, I highly suggest booking a charter with Capt. Cribb. You will not be disappointed!
Capt Ellison was fantastic! We had booked a 4hr fishing trip during our stay in Bonita Spring. It was our son’s first time fishing and Capt Ellison was extremely patient and knowledgeable. Due to a thunderstorm, we had to change our charter to later in the day and Capt Ellison was highly communicative throughout. We will definitely charter with Capt Ellison again!
Had a great morning with Capt Ellison. Met the boat at the Lover's Key boat ramp, did inshore fishing in Estero Bay. Captain seemed knowledgeable about the bay and where to fish. Boat was fast and comfortable at least in flat bay waters. We caught trout, catfish, sheepshead, ladyfish, and a bonnethead shark, all pretty small except for the shark which was something of a load to bring to the boat. Would definitely go with this captain again.
