The offshore bite was slow but the crew worked hard and the boat was very comfortable to fish out of.

Captain Genaro and his deck hand Jeremy were fantastic. They totally added to our experience. They spoke great english which is a huge plus for us. The Captain asked what kind of fishing experience we were looking for and we told him that "we wanted each of us (three) to catch any kind of fish to knock catching a fish in Costa Rica off our bucket list. From there we would like to catch some big open water fish." The captain took us out for about an hour and put us on 5 big Mahi Mahi in the first three hours of us fishing. Not only was the fishing everything we could have asked for, Genaro was very personable and had lots of local knowledge about the fishing and history of Costa Rica. On our trip we also were lucky enough to see humpback whales, sea turtles, dolphins, flying fish, rays, and a few sail fish jumping out of the water. I will definitely book with them again and tell anyone who is looking for a good crew to fish with in Costa Rica to use Papagayo Fishing.

Three Mahi Mahi!! One beautiful Blue Marlin and an enormous black Marlin!! Great Captain and First Mate worked with kids ages 19-12 catch their own fish!! The most amazing day!! Thank you for adding highlight to our trip and Everlasting memories for our family!!

We caught about 8 tuna and the crew was very helpful and did everything to get us some fish. I would recommend this experience 100%.
