Kids Fishing 101
If you’re ready to enjoy fishing in Wilmington, look no further than Wrightsville Fishing. Your guide for the day is Captain Rennie Clark, one of the top Professional Saltwater Anglers in the country with over 100 Top 10 finishes in Redfish Tournaments nationwide. Captain Rennie along with his daughter Camille will work with your kids and teach them how to catch fish.
These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Striped Bass, Flounder, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some. During the trip, you might be spinning, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Wrightsville Fishing is a family-friendly charter service offering trips designed to introduce fishing to kids. You can’t go wrong when you bring some snacks, a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray).
Your trip begins aboard a 21’ Regulator offshore boat that holds up to 6 passengers. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
We have 3 two hour time slots each day.

2 Hr – Fishing 101 with the Kids
Friendly and knowledgeable
We took our 4 younger kids out for a trip with Captain Ren and it was amazing. He was able great with the kids, making sure they all had a line in the water and would talk them through reeling in their fish. At one point we had what he said was a very large flounder, a stingray, and 2 other fish all on hooks at the same. He made sure to keep the kids away from the stingray to keep them safe while running around his boat to handle everything else going on. All of that and he still took the time to make sure each kid had a picture with their fish and told them what species it was. Truly was a fantastic experience.

PERFECT Trip!
We come to the area every year. We wanted a new memory for Father’s Day this year and Captain Rennie’s Kids 101 was perfect! He and his daughter are easy going and great at what they do. The kids had a blast as did we watching them reel in multiple fish! Memories made, skills learned and we will be back for sure. Also, this guy knows his stuff so even experienced anglers will have a good time! Good guy, clean boat, great time!

Fantastic Time & Tons of Fish!
The captain and first mate were awesome! Me and my 3 kids caught a ton of fish of all varieties and sizes. My two daughters had really never fished, were like warm about going and had a BLAST! Especially the one that caught a huge redfish. My son eventually caught up in the fish count and asked if we could go again the next day. Top Notch Experience!!
