Captain Mike’s Guide Service 

We've done a charter before, and it was alright, but I felt like it didn't quite hit the mark for a great trip. But my friend's never fished in the ocean, and my son really wanted to go again, so I started looking for what we wanted. After reading reviews and deciding what we'd go for, I got in touch with Captain Mike. We met up with him, and he was already ready for us, even though we were an hour early. We headed out to our spot to fish for Black Tip Sharks. After rigging up the rods for shark fishing, we only waited 5 minutes and we were on the fish! The first one was about a 6-foot black tip, and my buddy got him to the boat before the hook pulled out. My son was on one within seconds after, landing a 4-foot black tip. Minutes later, I hooked into an 8-foot spinner shark. Long story short, we hooked up with 7 sharks and tagged out on them. It was an awesome time! My son's already planning our next trip and wants to go shark fishing again with Captain Mike. I'd totally recommend Captain Mike's Guide Service to anyone who wants a great fishing experience at a really reasonable price.

I don’t even know where to start — this was hands down our BEST fishing trip yet!! We stacked it up: 🎣 2 speckled sea trout 🎣 5 black drum 🦈 2 Atlantic sharpnose sharks 🦈 2 massive 4 ft sandbar sharks Every fish was BEAUTIFUL and the action never stopped. Captain Mike had us on them the entire time — no guessing, no waiting around… just straight catching. The guy flat-out KNOWS what he’s doing. And it didn’t stop on the water… We made it home and just had the BEST shark steak I’ve ever eaten — melted in our mouths🔥 Huge shoutout to the wife Ashley for absolutely killing it in the kitchen like always!! Austin and I were blown away — and my son grinning from ear to ear said: “ I don’t think regular fishing will ever be the same after hearing that line zip! ” To see the excitement in his face and hear him chatter the whole 5 hrs home was why I signed up. Big Hats off to Captain Mike for an unforgettable experience with many more to come.  If you’re even THINKING about booking a trip — stop thinking and call Captain Mike. Captain Mike is extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He put us fish right away. He found out my son really wanted to catch a shark so after fishing for redfish he took us to where the sharks were. Within a short time we had landed two black tips over 5’ long. This was one of our most memorable trips together. I highly recommend going out with Captain Mike. it was a truly wonderful day.

We had an amazing fishing trip with Captain Mike. We caught our limit in speckled trout and blacktip shark. In addition to that, we caught a Spanish mackerel. He is very knowledgeable about the fish, their habits and how to catch them. He has a great sense of humor and is great to hang out with. We had a blast and will happily fish with Captain Mike again!

Captain Mike was fantastic and just what we needed for a family of 4 to experience salt water fishing for the first time. Captain Mike navigated to 5 or 6 differnt spots so we would be sure to catch differnt types of fish! We ended up catching 7 in total!! A Jack, a sheephead, bonnet shark, and 4 drums! Captain Mike then fileted them and we got to enjoy them right away at the Huli Huli Hut, per Mike’s recommendation! We had a great time!

Captain Mike was outstanding from start to finish. He’s easy to talk to, keeps the trip fun and relaxed, and knows Galveston waters inside and out. We caught sheepshead near South Levy, and it was clear he knew exactly where to put us for success. On top of that, he’s a true salty South Texas Hemingway—full of stories, character, and hard-earned local knowledge that makes the experience just as memorable as the fishing. Mike was awesome! This was our second trip with him—he put us on bull reds last time and sharks this time. He works great with kids and always makes the trip fun. My nine-year-old said this was his best fishing trip yet! We’ll definitely be back.

Great trip with Captain Mike. He was knowledgeable, patient, and put us on some fish. Hit my trout and blacktip limit and caught plenty of other fish, including a 6-foot spinner shark. Would definitely book with him again.

We headed out from the dock and were on the fish in no time! we caught trout, flounder, drum and redfish. we will definitely be back!! thank you Big Mike!!!
