I just recently went on my first fishing trip with Curtis Chaplin of Overtime Charters and had a blast! Curtis has many, many years of experience fishing the Ucluelet area and it shows.
He knows where to go and how to catch the fish. He absolutely went the extra mile to make sure we left with a ton of fish!
If you’re new to fishing, Curtis will show you how. If you’re experienced, he’ll set you up. I enjoyed the many stories Curtis shared. He is very friendly and very welcoming.
You will also be very hard pressed to find a charter with a nicer fishing boat.

We have thoroughly enjoyed all of our highly successful fishing adventures with Curtis!  He is so knowledgeable about where to find the fish and what gear is most effective.  His clear instructions and support as you bring in a hooked fish are such that you can feel comfortable that the fish will be in the boat.  In each of the four occasions fishing with Curtis, we have limited out on Coho and Spring salmon - and got our share of halibut. 
Curtis’s boat is of such a size as to be safe and comfortable no matter the water.  Of course, he is cautious about deciding where to fish given the water conditions.
So, if you are looking for expert guidance in catching salmon and halibut, Curtis and Overdrive is an excellent choice.  Overdrive Charters demonstrates Curtis’s fishing style: locate the fish, use the right gear, support each guest to bring in the fish, and, do all the cleaning/filleting of the catch in preparation for packaging.  A class operation to be enjoyed!

Beautiful boat! The boat is equipped with some of the highest quality fishing gear and rides the waves very comfortably. Curtis is very knowledgable, has a great personality and sense of humour (Heart of Gold!). Makes the fishing experience a lot of fun!  Definitely made an awesome Fishing buddy! We caught some Coho Salmon and couldn’t be happier! Definitely hope to book another trip again when back in the area. Top class! 100% would recommend! Thank you so much for that wonderful time out on the water.

Ucuelet is our go to place for summer fishing. I have been there both on friends boats and with other charters. I have to say this is by far the best experience I have ever had. Curtis is very professional and it shows in his equipment and personality. He knows the fishing grounds well and was always checking to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. If we made mistakes when fishing he was always very professional about explaining things. We will definitely book again with Curtis again.

If I could give Capt Curtis more stars I would !!  We had an amazing experience…..our first hour on the water produced 10 salmon and continued to produce the rest of the day !  Capt Curtis is a knowledgeable guide and captain and just a super nice guy all around.  His boat is comfortable and safe no matter water the conditions on the water. Having done a number of charters - this was by far the best experience all around.
