Capt. Codey will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 4 to 10-hour trips, mainly fishing for Walleye, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Salmon, and Brown Trout, depending on the season and conditions on the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as trolling.
The crew typically starts to run Walleye in June to ensure you have the best time possible out on the water. These trips continue to run until October. Lake Trout is an underappreciated sport fish on Lake Erie. Starting at the end of July, Lake Trout can be found mixed in the Walleye areas just under the thermocline that sets up as the surface water warms. Lake Trout is targeted throughout the mid to late summer. Steelhead and Brown Trout are also common catches throughout the season.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 28' Wellcraft boat that can safely take up to 5 anglers. It's got a full head toilet and cabin below deck. The boat also comes with an ice-box.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Please make sure to buy a valid fishing license ahead of time. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.

As with any charter, hopes are high that the waters will be calm and the fish will cooperate... Today's trip was nothing short of extraordinary. Captain Codey Allen and his First Mate were on top of their game and had us on fish from the moment we left the Barcelona Harbor. If you have kids, adults or older fishing buddies that may be slowing down, a walleye charter trip with the Lake Effect Fishing crew should be on your to do list. Incredible fishing action, friendly and helpful staff and some of the best table fare you can take out of the great lakes to share with your family and friends. Get a hold of these guys and have a trip you will remember for a lifetime... FISH ON!!!

Great trip and I would recommend a weekday trip as there were very few boats in the water. Great day and great capital and first mate!! Will book for smallmouth and walleye again next year.

We took a walleye trip with Capt. Codey on Lake Erie in late July. It was our first time on Erie and my kids' first time on an extended boat trip. Codey and his mate were awesome. We got right on the fish, they answered questions, explained what they were doing, and were great with the kids. It didn't hurt that we limited out, but even without that the trip would have been a success. We would highly recommend booking a trip with Lake Affect and Capt. Codey.
