Captain Eric went above and beyond to make our fishing charter an unforgettable experience for me and the kids. Eric knows what he's doing. We wanted shark fishing and he delivered. First we got to chase the shark bait. Bonita. That is one scrappy fish. Ten times the fight of a largemouth. Then the sharks. What a blast!!! We had to double team the rigs, because they did not want to be caught!!! Got our limit and moved on to some non-stop action on trout, bluefish, etc.. Just a great day with a great Captain. I've been boating for years and have never seen that kind of skill driving a boat. His first mate Dalton kept us baited, rigged, gaffed the big ones, and was just doing all the " dirty work" for us all day. At the end of the day Eric cleaned our catch and bagged it up for us. I would give him ten stars if I could.

Our son wanted a big bite and a fish with a fight and he got just that with Captain Eric! My son was able to fight and reel to the boat a Tarpon. We also caught 3 Red Drums, 2 Jack Crevalles, and some Mangrove Snappers. Not only did we catch some amazing fish, we were able to see dolphins, manatees, a pufferfish swam by, sea turtles by his dock, and when my daughter was tired of fishing she enjoyed the company of the puppy! It was beyond what we could have asked for! If you are looking for a fishing carter look no further, go with Captain Eric and Down South Fishing Company! Believe me, this is worth the experience!

My dad and I were down in Edgewater for a long weekend and we had limited daytime availability to fit in a fishing trip, but Capt. Eric offered night trips…PROBLEM SOLVED! This was our first time on the water in Edgewater, which started off a little slow, but Capt. Eric set those expectation early and said the tide would be turning in our favor. Some other boat captains were actually calling off their trips because of the late tide, but Eric was confident he could put us on fish and man did he! He put us on some Snook and expertly identified a huge Red Drum with the Fish-Finder which I caught. The next day was a little cool and rainy and my dad and I finished our day and we were enjoying our own fresh catch from the day before at the Outrigger Yacht Club at dusk. I looked at him and said “nobody’s on the water, wonder if Eric has availability tonight”… So, round two with Captain Eric; more Snook, a Speckled Trout and a Black Drum. A grand slam weekend! Had the best fishing trip with Captain Eric. He put us on some great fish. Being able to watch my girlfriend and sister catch these two monsters alone was worth the trip but Eric found a nice school of mangrove snapper and a variety of other fish including snook. Captain Eric was great and his knowledge and expertise made our trip a success and can't wait to book our next trip. Definitely recommend this experience!

Gonna keep it reel with y’all. This trip was o-fish-aly a success! It was an amazing oppor-tuna-ty to go on an inshore fishing trip with Down South Fishing. Nobody does it betta. Personally, I had no interest in fishing but my dad wanted to go. Eric and William are super friendly and knowledgeable. Even though I didn't think I'd have the strength to reel in a fish, they had faith! They made the trip enjoyable and provided encouragement and coaching and made us feel just like professional fishermen! BRB while I look for flights to visit again.

Captain Eric located fish for me to catch, we hooked onto snook but the snook broke the line, I did catch 2 redfish with one fish measuring 42 inches, and another 40 inches.

What an experience! Captain Eric was very knowledgeable and personable making our trip very comfortable! It was our first time going out on a charter to fish. He took us to several spots and the fish just weren't biting (that's all part of fishing)...but he was determined to be sure each of us caught something in our trip. All for us caught our own shark! It was amazingly cool and an experience we will never forget! We would definitely do this trip again!

Hands down one of the best fishing experience of my life. Never in my life could I imagine something that action packed when it comes to fishing. I feel like none of us on the boat could get a break from reeling in some kind of fish. The crew is very experienced and knowledgeable about the sport, you will learn and see a lot fishing with these guys, they are as chill and funny as can be not to mention the sweet dog they had on board keeping ya company and entertained the whole time it was fun seeing the dog get just as excited as myself every time I reeled in a fish. By the end of the day my arms, shoulders and back felt like jello and if that doesn’t mean something I don’t know what does. Give these guys a call and plan a trip worth remembering!

Could not have booked a trip with a better captain, he put us on the Redfish immediately!! Great guy to be in the boat with, considering making a special trip back down here just for another trip with him. Highly recommended
