Salty Hooker Charters runs daily out of Cape Charles Harbor in Cape Charles Virginia, 23310. We fish the lower Chesapeake Bay wherever the bite is on. Captain Jon will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing on the lower Chesapeake.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 28' Grady White 282 Sailfish. The Salty Hooker is equipped with a new Rhodan trolling motor in 2026, state of the art Lowrance electronics, and twin 200 HP Yamaha outboards. There are plenty of places to sit and store your belongings. The lower cabin has a sitting area and table, and an enclosed bathroom. For cold weather fishing we have an enclosed helm area and cabin with a heater.
Smoking and Alcohol are allowed.
All fishing licenses required, fishing poles, tackle, bait, and the ice for bait and fish is Included in the price. So you can focus on what really matters, fishing. The crew will clean, fillet, and bag your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.

Jon was a great captain. very knformation, bantered well with both myself and my daughter, and was pleasant. When we did get in the fish, he was helpful and instructive. We managed to catch a 36 inch and citation worthy 50 inch Red Drums, and Jon followed up with how to record that catch. He also participates in the tagging program for Virginia fisheries, which i thinknis admirable. Inwould absolutely book again

Captain Jon was great. I caught 7 red drum (landed 6). Smallest was 33”, 4 between 35-37” and one citation 47”. Other highlight was a very large pod of dolphins and a great sunset. I highly Salty Hooker for a fantastic fishing trip.
Thanks Bob!  I had an awesome time as well and will be talking about that trip with customers for a long time… My buddies that were up there ended up landing six as well… he told me at the dock that night that he ran out of bait. That’s why he left before we did.👍🏻
Captan Jon was amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip very enjoyable. We caught a bunch of Red Drum. We would definitely book another trip o the Salty Hooker.

Captain Jon is a U.S. Coast Guard approved OUPV Captain authorized to carry up to 6 passengers. Captain Jon is originally from Maryland where he fished the upper and middle Chesapeake Bay. Captain Jon has fished on the Chesapeake since he was a kid, as well as working as a first mate on several boats in Deale, MD. In 2020 Captain Jon started Salty Hooker Charters, LLC in Cape Charles, Virginia. He now resides in the Cape Charles area, where he loves the awesome fishing the lower Chesapeake provides!. Fishing in the lower Chesapeake bay out of Cape Charles is rewarding. Depending on the time of year, you'll get a chance to catch different species like Cobia, Striped Bass, Red Drum, Spadefish, Black Drum, Tautog, and more. Salty Hooker Charters will put you on the fish! Your necessary fishing gear, fishing licenses, and fish cleaning will be provided by the charter. Drinking alcohol and smoking are allowed on board.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
