Fisher Rose Angling
Captain Ryan McHugh is located in Charleston and offers to show you a memorable time in these waters. Come spend a fun-filled day with Capt. Ryan, a USCG-certified boat captain and a licensed charter boat operator. The captain has lived in Charleston for 25 years and has fished in these waters for over 30 years.
Capt. Ryan will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 5 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Redfish, Flounder, Cobia, Dolphin, Tarpon, and Amberjack, depending on the season and conditions of the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, big game fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 27' Pathfinder center console that can safely take up to 6 anglers. The boat also has radar, dual GPS Garmin units, outriggers, and a wireless trolling motor that allows you to lock in on bottom targets with GPS anchor locking capability. For Capt. Ryan, safety is first when fishing our South Carolina waters. He has USCG-approved life vests, flares, and GPS communication that he wears at all times.
Your trip will include all the necessary fishing tackle, bait, ice, and licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.

Captain was super professional and knowledgeable. One of the best fishing trips I’ve ever had the pleasure of being on. We will most definitely book again in the future. 10 stars!
Thanks Lee! See yall next time.
We caught red fish - big - 40 pounds! A few other things too - small shark and sting rays. We learned so much about Charleston’s fishing scene. Ryan was an excellent communicator. He made the trip low effort for me - we showed up and had the best time!! I will do it again!
Heavy heart on this day. I lost my dad one year to the day. we had no clue our familys had so much in common. Blessed to spend this day with y’all. I wont forget you.

Three of us thoroughly enjoyed a 6 hour near shore fishing excursion because Captain RJ put is on so many fish! We were in the area vacationing with family, and we ended up taking back more than enough filets for 13 of us to enjoy a huge fish fry. He showed us multiple techniques, and we caught several different species of fish, including some huge ones. During the few times the fishing slowed, Captain RJ was quick to move locations and put us right back on top of them. We've been on several smaller boats over the years, but the extra room on this new 27' Pathfinder made a huge difference. We will definitely be returning to fish with Captain RJ!!
Ryan was a great guide with knowledge of the waters. My wife and I did the 1/2 day inshore trip on his hells bay skiff, and it was exactly what I was looking for in a fishing experience on our honeymoon. Oh and it was awesome catching a 33” redfish on light tackle too! Will be recommending and relaying his contact information to my friends and family back in Nashville.
JC thanks for the review and that redfish truly was a special one! Thank you both for an awesome day on the water, and congratulations on the marriage. Let me know how 167 raw was.
First said, you won’t find a more skilled Captain than Ryan. His 12 yr charter experience and knowledge of the area was incredible. We started at 7:00 AM attempting to go about 5 miles off shore, the winds did not cooperate. Half way out to the destination, Captain Ryan stopped and made that we knew the conditions we were heading into. He let us make a call if we wanted to fish in such a tough environment. We decided to go near shore instead and eventually hooked three sharks before we land 4 monster redfish. It was a slow day on the water, however Captain Ryan found the fish. He was a great charter and if and when I am back in Charleston he would get my charter again!!!! Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!
Great Family! Thanks for the trip and look forward to hooking up in the future.
