Hook’d On Fishing Charters, Inc runs fishing trips out of Waukegan and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Come on aboard with Capt. John, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like light tackle and trolling, based on the species you're targeting. You'll be fishing for Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Salmon, depending on the specific season and the day's weather.
Your boat for the day will be a 31' Tiara Open that comfortably fits up to 5 anglers comfortably at any one time. There is a cabin for personal belonging such as jackets and coolers.
All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that's up to you is to use it as best you can.
Please keep in mind you'll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip.

Amazing Father’s Day trip

What an amazing day on the water with Capt John and first mate Eric. Within a few minutes of the lines being set we had strikes. Missed the first few, but then it was nonstop catching for about an hour and a half after that. We limited out and caught some chunky coho and a small king. The captain and mate knew exactly what to do and put us on a ton of fish. Fun guys to talk to out on the water also. Would highly recommend Capt John

Capt. John and his First Mate were a blast to fish with! We had an amazing time out on the water. Our group included a couple of first-timers, and Capt. John was incredibly patient—even after we lost a few catches early on. We ended up maxing out and even had to release the last catch! I would definitely recommend Capt. John and his charter service. Can’t wait to go out again!

This was a 20 out of 10 fishing charter. The captain personalized the entire trip for my handicapped father and seasick prone wife. He made sure all of us were comfortable from beginning to end. He had us on fish within the first hour and we only missed our limit due to our own noob errors. The mate, Andy, managed 10 lines in the water and handed us poles as soon as they got hit. This is the captain and crew that you want for your next charter.

I did this charter for my 13 year-old son and he had an amazing time. John and his first mate were very nice and accommodating. We went on a morning trip and caught king salmon and lake trout, we can’t wait to go back in the spring.
