Ocean Obsession and Captain Dave welcome you to Winchester Bay! Join this experienced and reliable guide on one of his daily journeys to the ocean and see what makes so many people get back again and again. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a complete novice, there’s a spot for you on his boat.
You’ll be fishing on a brand new 31’ Raider boat that accommodates up to 6 guests. This pilothouse is powered by twin 300 Suzuki engines and reaches the speed of up to 55 mph. There’s seating space both inside the cabin and outside. There’s a full head and handicap access through a side port door. No matter where you go, you can count on a safe and reliable ride on this vessel.
These fun trips will take you after Halibut, Salmon, and Tuna, with the possibility of crabbing as well. Captain Dave doesn’t like to be bored so if you aren’t catching fish he is moving to find them. All trips are shared, so if you don’t have enough people in your group, you can count on joining other anglers on the deck.
All fishing equipment is covered by the captain but you need to take care of fishing licenses. Bring your lunch, drinks, and snacks to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Dress in layers as some days are cold and others are warm. After the trip, you get to keep the catch. Captain Dave will clean and fillet your fish except for tuna which you will have to do yourself or sometimes there are guys on the dock to hire. Bring your coolers ready to take home fish!
Ocean Obsession hopes to be your host on your next fishing adventure. Set the date and see you at the dock!

Coho/Chinook Salmon Trip on June 26, 2025
David knows what he is doing and did a great job. We went out for salmon but after hours of trying and only catching a few Coho we had to let go, he pivoted and got us some rock fish and crab. He threw everything he had at them and went to multiple spots. Would highly recommend.

Bottom (Rock) Fishing Trip on April 17, 2025
Dave captain of Ocean Obsession gave us a great trip. Choppy with strong current but he worked hard to get us on the fish and succeeded under tough conditions. Ling cod and rock fish bonanza fishing with great guys.I’ll certainly be going again.

The weather was not ideal, but inspite of the circumstances, the captain and crew worked hard to see that we got our limit. It was a fun and productive trip.

Captain Dave is a very knowledgeable guide when it comes to fishing and he goes above and beyond to get fish on the boat. The boat is nice, clean and comfortable.

1 Hour Trip – Dungeness Crab on November 9, 2024
I recommend this service. Great host, relaxed feel, awesome scenery and big dungeness crabs. 12 crabs in an hour? It's true!
