Capt. Blake has been exploring these waters long enough to know all the best spots in the area and he’ll take you to some of his favorite ones. You can join no matter what your skill level is - whatever you need to know about landing a trophy, you’ll learn it right here.

The trip takes place on a 43’ Hatteras that accommodates up to 6 guests. This spacious vessel was refurbished in 2022, and it’s powered by twin 400 HP Detroit 6v92 engines. The boat has all the comfort you’ll need for a long day on the water, such as a private toilet, an enclosed cabin with AC and TV, and a cooler. You can also rely on modern navigational electronics to take you where you need to be.

The techniques you’ll most likely use are trolling, bottom fishing, and deep-sea fishing. Some of the species that can end up on the other side of the line are Red Snapper, Wahoo, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Grouper, and more. One of the best parts is that, after the trip, the first mate will clean and bag your fish for you to take home!

All fishing equipment and your licenses are covered by the captain. You’ll need to bring your food, drinks, and sun protection.

10 hr trip with Captain Blake

Thanks Captain blake for putting us on the fish. we caught a bunch of Red Snapper , trigger fish, and hooked a few amberjacks but couldn’t land them. i would recommend this charter to anyone. The boat was comfortable and a/c felt great in the cabin. The mate Houston was spectacular and knew his stuff. He was curtious , knowledgeable,friendland helped us a bunch. I’ll be back on the Mad Hatter soon. Happy Birthday Captain

On a scale of one to 10, this trip was a 15. Captain Blake went above and beyond to put us on fish. First mate Houston was top-notch. Great day on the water with the family. Can't wait to schedule next year's trip with him again. Awesome day on the water. Can't say enough great things about Captain Blake, and first mate Houston. Book with them if you can. It's no surprise that they are always booked up.

Great way to spend the day!

Couldn’t have asked for a better crew and day of fishing. Extremely friendly and hard working crew. You can tell captain Blake and Houston love what they do. They have an air conditioned area to escape the heat which was great. We had to reschedule because of weather and Captain Blake was super informative and communication was great. If you’re looking to have a great time on the water this is your spot!

Big Snapper Catch!

6 Hour Trip on July 20, 2025 • 3 adults

Blake and Houston did an outstanding job of placing us on the fish. We caught our snapper in about 5 minutes!! They formed the trip around what we wanted to fish for, and it exceeded our expectations! The boat was great as well as we were able to sit in the A/C and watch Scotty win the Open to and from offshore. A big bonus on the hottest day of the year! They will be our first call when back in Gulf Shores!

Great trip, great experience!

4 Hour Intro to offshore fishing. on July 31, 2025 • 4 adults • 1 child

Our family of 5 (daughters 16/14/7) had a great time on the Mad Hatter! Capt May and first mate Houston made sure we found fish. We ended up catching plenty, including a bunch of red snapper and Spanish mackerel that we took home (after Houston cleaned them). I'd highly recommend the Mad Hatter to anyone looking for a great experience.
