Brannin Charters is a top-class inshore fishing outfit in Wilmington, NC. We offer an exciting experience to catch redfish, flounder, trout, black drum, etc. on the Wilmington inshore coastline. We specialize in catching inshore fish using various techniques. We are skilled at anything from bait fishing to pushing through the flats and sight fishing red drum on the fly. Captain Michael Brannin is an experienced and very skilled captain. He caters his trips to fit your needs as his goal is to give you a great fishing trip and experience. Most charters will run out of the Fort Fisher boat ramp located in Kure Beach, NC. However, Brannin Charters also serves Wrightsville, Oak Island, Southport, Bald Head Island, and Carolina Beach.
All fishing licenses will be provided, along with bait, tackle, rods, and anything else needed for the trip. The only thing you will need is sunscreen, food, and drinks. We use the best quality rods, including both Penn and Okuma fishing set-ups. Fly rods and fly tackle will also be provided for fly fishing trips.
Charters are operated on a 2010 East Cape Lostmen with a brand new 2024 Yamaha 70 engine. The boat has rear seating that makes for a comfortable ride. The boat has a draft of around 5 inches, allowing for fishing styles that are not achievable by other boats.

Great Time
Brannon Charters did a great job of communicating with me before our trip. We had some bad weather come through early morning and they adjusted our time instead of cancelling the trip .My son and I had a great time , great experience. These guys know the area well and have nice set up.Will definitely book again next year when my family returns to the beach.

Redfish Slam
Captain Michael had us reeling in redfish within 5 of leaving the dock! He was great with our 7 year old and kept all three of our lines baited. We caught flounder, croaker, pinfish, baby black tip sharks, and a bunch of redfish, which he filleted for us to eat that evening. This was our second trip with Michael and we'll be back next year!

Fish the flats with Capt Michael
A great day on the water with Capt Michael. Knowledgeable guide, methodical approach and somehow knows where the fish are. Our trip had too much wind and was not too long after a recent tropical storm come through so normal fishing patterns were off. It didn't stop Capt Michael we still found and caught fish. More than any other boat on the water that day. Fishing the flats is a great trip and Capt Michael gets into his high chair and can literally direct you where the fish are because he can see them. Really a great trip if you've never done it. I'd caught my first Black Drum on this trip so crossing that one of my list. I was amazed twice on this trip. First was when we stop at a spot and were told to cast into an area because there's Red Drum that run through there...sure enough my buddy hooked one right away...first cast. Second was cruising to a new spot we suddenly stop and Capt Michael says let's take a minute and try this spot and see if we can get some Black Drum. Really? the thought crosses his mind to stop the boat and cast into an area for Black Drum? Okay. I'm out here fishing I don't care what I catch but to call the fish like that?!?!? First cast...bites and lost bait. Second cast...biggest fish of the day and you guessed it...a Black Drum! Capt Michael would be great for experienced anglers and those looking to introduce their kids to the fun of fishing. An all-around great day on the water. Thank you Michael! Hope to see you next year!
