With Captain Michael Whitesides, you can fish inshore and nearshore grounds and reefs in search of various fine species that dwell in South Carolina’s waters. The captain will meet you in Mount Pleasant and help you have a productive and relaxing trip in lovely nature.
Your journey will begin on a 25’ Sea Pro bay boat that can seat up to 6 guests. It runs on a 250 HP Suzuki engine with modern GPS and fishfinder systems for safe and efficient navigation. There’s a portable toilet on board, and it also features an ice-box, livewell, and wireless trolling motor.
Chase Spotted Seatrout, Sheepshead, Redfish, and Black Drum. Reel them in using light tackle, bottom fishing, and jigging. Feel free to take home the fish you catch and enjoy lovely meals with your family or friends.
The captain will provide all the fishing tackle, live bait, and lures. The captain can clean your catch for free. And as his license covers all the guests, you only need to bring some snacks and drinks. Kids are welcome to come aboard!
While at Sea – During offshore fishing, if anyone in your group wishes to return to shore for reasons unrelated to the charter company, that’s ok. Your comfort and enjoyment are important to us. However, if sea conditions are safe and fishing can continue, the full balance of the trip will be expected to be paid.
Equipment Damage – Please be aware that the captain may charge for any damages/loss to the boat, fishing equipment, or property owned by Salty Angler Fishing Charters during your trip. The replacement value will be determined by the owner and charged to the card on file.
The captain is not liable for any injury or fatality caused by any member of the fishing party/group/guests, whether directly or indirectly.
Boat Maintenance – If we need to cancel a trip due to boat maintenance, we’re more than happy to reschedule for another day or provide a full refund.

The BEST fishing day EVER
Half Day Trip – Inshore (AM) on March 28, 2025
My husband and I, with our two kids, ages seven and nine, joined Captain Mike for an amazing 4 hour fishing adventure! Captain Mike is amazing. He’s a great fisherman, he’s amazing with kids and he was just fun to be around. We had such a wonderful day and caught so many fish. He is an expert at what he does and he makes it look effortless. He didn’t just come in and take over. He gave us great tips and techniques for fishing and catching fish. My kids were giddy with all the fish catching. It was fish after fish after fish. We can’t wait to come back and meet up with him again. He truly made the last day of our spring break extremely memorable. He is also just a wonderful person and a joy to be around. We felt safe and well prepared for the day out on the water. We highly recommend this charter. For adults and children alike!

Great Day with Captain Mike!
Half Day Trip – Inshore (PM) on April 26, 2025
We had a great afternoon fishing with Capt Mike! He put us on fish right away and kept everybody busy all afternoon. He made sure our kids had fresh bait and their lines were in the water at all times. Everyone had a chance to take pictures with the fish they caught. I would highly recommend booking him for your fishing character. He will take great care of you!

Half Day Trip – Inshore (PM) on February 7, 2025
We started going back in the creek, which was beautiful but not productive. Capt Mike turned us around and we headed out for the jetties. One keeper after the next! He was great at making sure we were always casting in the perfect spot, and quick to freshen the bait. A delightful I/2 day. We had booked noon to four and he asked us to move to 10-2 due to tides which worked out perfectly! Highly recommend And he filleted everything- great eating. Red and black drum fish and sheepshead!

Great afternoon on the water
Shark Fishing Trip PM on May 15, 2025
Captain Mike took me on a 3 hour shark fishing trip. Made it to the spot within minutes and had our first bite pretty quickly. Ended up catching 3 sharks total! Very fun. We would have caught more but the currents picked up and were hard to fish in. I highly recommend the Salty Angler!

My 15 yo and 12 yo had so much fun and caught so many fish. Captain Mike then cleaned and prepped the fish and even told the boys how each should be cooked. He helped them all along the way and found great fishing spots. We all really appreciated his knowledge and help. I will definitely use him again.
