A day out on the local waters around Oak Island is a dream come true for those who want to get their hands on anything from Redfish to Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Black Drum, King, and Spanish Mackerel, as well as others. Capt. Kelly and his Reef Thief Fishing Charters will work hard to put you on top of the hottest bite.
You will be exploring the waters aboard the ‘Reef Thief. It is a 20’ Century Bay boat with a 150 HP Yamaha outboard. The Reef Thief is fully outfitted with a fish finder, Lowrance GPS, wireless Rhodan trolling motor, and other electronics.
The Reef Thief offers a smooth, quiet, and dry ride to the shallow waters of the Oak Island waterways and creeks, inshore artificial reefs, and live rock bottoms. It can comfortably accommodate up to 3-4 anglers to fish in style.
All trips with Reef Thief Fishing Charters include all your fishing gear, bait, and ice. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain, so you don’t have to worry about it. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Multiple Trips with Captain Kelly
that's me - the fat guy holding fish on the Thief. I am rating one trip but i have fished with Kelly several times. Kelly runs a tight "ship" with on time starts that coincide with the best times to take advantage of the tide changes. The Thief is solid and well maintained and he has solid equipment to real in the catch and if the bite changes, Kelly always has the appropriate tackle if we need to make a move. Kelly as a Captain is engaging and funny so even if the fish arent biting, it can still be a good day on the water. highly recommend.

Captain Kelly worked hard to put us on the fish. We had two good days out fishing. There was never a dull moment on his boat. We caught a good variety of fish, even some nice flounder that we could not keep due to being out of season. If you book a trip with Captain Kelly, you will not regret it. We had a blast. Thanks Capt for taking us out!!! Will be booking another trip next year!!
