Make an adventure out of your next trip in Montauk and go fishing with Sarah Grace Charters. With Captain John at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
There’s no guarantee when you’re fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Striped Bass, Black Seabass, Scup (Porgy), Flounder, Tautog, and more if you come at the right time of year. During the trip, you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. John can also have you Flounder gigging.
Children are welcome, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Your adventure begins aboard a 32’ Downeast with space for 6 passengers. It has a fighting chair and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary. Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s always wise to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now, come aboard with Sarah Grace Charters and get hooked!
