Fishing at Gatun Lake was simply outstanding. From the first cast to the last catch, the entire day was filled with excitement and pure joy. The scenery is breathtaking — surrounded by lush rainforest and the iconic Panama Canal — and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the species. The bite was on fire! Peacock bass, snook, kept us busy all day long. Every catch was a new thrill, and Captain JD made the whole experience smooth, fun, and educational. This is a must-do adventure for any fishing lover visiting Panama. 🌅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars all the way!

at first we were disappointed bc there was no trolling motor, but they informed us that it had broken a few days earlier on a tree, and that peacock bass would not be frightened by the boat motor the way we are used to bass at home. and they were right. we caught a few peacock bass right at the beginning. then my husband caught an oscar! the captain caught a baby snook, as well. we saw tons of iguanas and even a crocodile. the birds and howling monkeys sounded so cool all day. ive always thought our lake at home was beautiful, but I’ve been ruined now, because that tropical rainforest backdrop mkes you feel like youre in jurassic park! caught a few more peacock bass - all in all, it was a great day of fishing!

Gatun lake is a very beautiful place with the added bonus of passing by the huge ships going through the Panama Canal. We caught some large specimens of peacock bass early on, then nothing for quite some time but we tried many spots until we found a spot that had yet again plenty of fish, even an Oscar! Overall a great experience, our guide was friendly, patient and well equipped. Definitely recommend!

JD replied promptly in English and picked us up on time, the app said he was the captain so we were not worried. He dropped us off with Eduardo who was our actual captain and he spoke no English. That being said, the fishing trip was great, we caught peacock bass only and got to see the monkeys and enjoy a couple of hours on the lake. The description said there would be beer, water, soda, and snacks. There was only water and soda. I complained and when we got off the boat they offered us a beer. Eduardo was very nice! Thank you for a great experience.

I cam.down here to catch peacock bass and I was put on a lot of them. The captain and guide took me to some beautiful waters of Lake Gatun. We caught bass all day long and even landed a freshwater Jack on top water. I will be back.

The captain was cery knowledgeable in areas of the canal where we were sure to catch fish.

All my life I have seen the panama canal and always wanted to fish it and now that mission is accomplished thanks to My Captain Juan . I have never fished that many spots in one day ever he had me up and down that canal and his information of his country and the habitat around his country was outstanding. It was not like I was paying to finish. It felt like I was fishing with one of my homeboys.. We were able to hook him to one peacock bass, but he got off. I saw monkeys and a humongous crocodile. My husband and I booked this fishing trip with Captain Jose David, and we had the best time catching lots of fish. We caught many Peacock Bass and Oscar fish. Captain Jose David was very knowledable about Lake Gatun and knew exactly where to cast to catch fish. The boat was very comfortable and the captain provided waters and sodas. Captain Jose David kept in communication with us before the trip about details and was even able to assist us with transportation to and from the fishing spot from our downtown hotel. This was the perfect trip to be introduced to Lake Gatun fishing. Highly recommend taking this fishing trip with Vamos D’Pesca Sport Fishing!! Thank you for an unforgetable experience!

My experience with this fishing tour company in Lake Gatun, Panama Canal, was simply amazing. I did the tour with my wife and we recommend a 100% . The captain JD was extremely friendly and demonstrated a great experience in fishing in these waters. The boat was in excellent condition, very comfortable and equipped with first-class technology. It was an unforgettable day in the water and I will definitely be back for more fishing adventures with them!
