Coastal Discovery Adventures runs angling trips out of Surf City and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Capt. Woody aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you're after! Depending on the trip and species, you'll be using techniques like light tackle trolling and spinning. You're looking at 4-hour trips, where you'll usually go after the likes of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Flounder, King Mackerel, Redfish, and Little Tunny, depending on the weather and time of year.
You'll be fishing from a 21' Coastal Skiffs boat with enough room for up to 5 anglers at any single time. All rods, reels and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.
You can keep anything you catch, as long as it's legal to do so. This is a children-friendly charter, so you're welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

Hands down the best fishing trip we’ve ever had! Captain Woody was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and easygoing, which made the entire experience so enjoyable. He worked hard to make sure we stayed on fish and made sure we caught plenty throughout the trip. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and wants everyone to have a great time. We made some amazing memories and can’t wait to book another trip with him. If you’re looking for an inshore fishing experience that’s truly worth it, Captain Woody is the one to call. Highly recommend!
Captain Woody was amazing! All of the previous reviews were spot on. Husband and boys had a wonderful experience. Will definitely fish with him again when come back to the area. All fish were processed at the end of the trip.

Captain Woody was fantastic -- he was very knowledgeable, kind and patient with our son, generous, and full of interesting local stories to share. He also worked hard to get us fish and brought us to a lot of different spots. We really enjoyed our morning fishing with him and wouldn't hesitate to book with him again!
No fish today (not for the lack of trying 😤) but we did catch a couple crabs & a giant Conch! Sometimes fishing isn't about the catch, it's about the adventure, the scenery, and a great Captain. Thanks Captain Woody for an amazing 4-hour tour of beautiful NC waters. We be back in September for another adventure with Captain Woody!
captain woody was great. it was a slow start because of recent rains, but my boys ended up catching quite a bit and had a great time!

How cancellations work
You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
What the listing policies are
Pickup agreed upon reservation
Transfer to/from departure site may be available and included in price depending on your location and distance from the dock.
How you can pay
When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 15% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
