Coastal Discovery Adventures runs angling trips out of Surf City and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Capt. Woody aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you're after! Depending on the trip and species, you'll be using techniques like light tackle trolling and spinning. You're looking at 4-hour trips, where you'll usually go after the likes of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Flounder, King Mackerel, Redfish, and Little Tunny, depending on the weather and time of year.
You'll be fishing from a 21' Coastal Skiffs boat with enough room for up to 5 anglers at any single time. All rods, reels and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.
You can keep anything you catch, as long as it's legal to do so. This is a children-friendly charter, so you're welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

Captain Woody was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and easygoing, which made the entire experience so enjoyable. He worked hard to make sure we stayed on fish and made sure we caught plenty throughout the trip. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and wants everyone to have a great time. We made some amazing memories and can’t wait to book another trip with him. If you’re looking for an inshore fishing experience that’s truly worth it, Captain Woody is the one to call. Captain Woody was fantastic -- he was very knowledgeable, kind and patient with our son, generous, and full of interesting local stories to share. He also worked hard to get us fish and brought us to a lot of different spots. We really enjoyed our morning fishing with him and wouldn't hesitate to book with him again!

thank you for your nice review. I wish we could have caught more big fish but they won't get here till Sept. your kids are great and hopefully will catch a lot more fish as they get older. thank you for fishing with me. safe travels home and come visit topsail again
