Crazy Banana Charters runs angling trips out of Tavernier and offers to show you a fun saltwater fishing experience!

Capt. Randy and Capt. Ray will do their best to ensure you enjoy a day full of fishing. He specializes in light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, and jigging, all to get you on that bite. This involves 4 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Grouper, King Mackerel, Snook, and Amberjack, depending on the season and weather conditions.

You'll be fishing from a 34' Venture boat with enough room for up to 6 anglers at any single time. It also includes a toilet. The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water.

Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The Captain will provide bottled water, and feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks.

You'll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip. There will be a first mate on board to help you with anything you need. Tips for good service are always appreciated.

This is a children-friendly charter, so you're welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

Great boat, captain, and half day on the water

Half Day Trip (AM) on December 29, 2025 • 4 adults • 2 children

We ended up with Captain Mike on a beautiful tournament Fountain boat.  With 4 kids and 2 adults on-board, Captain Mike got us to the reef quickly and on some smaller yellowtail.  He was terrific helping the kids bait, teaching some free line techniques, learning about the fishery, and most importantly landing some fish.  Captain was diligent in moving to another spot later during the morning in search of larger fish.  We found them including a large nassau grouper; a highlight for our crew.  A great time was had by all!  We would charter with them again next time in the Keys.

Alex was awesome!

Alex was our captain for the trip. Iwas a great trip to the sand bars in the back bay. Fishing was fast and a variety. Alex was great at teaching is the methods to catch fish. His is experience is awe-inspiring. Everytime he touched a rod to show us what to do he pulled in a fish!

Outstanding Day

Had an awesome time with Captain Randy.  He treated my young son like a King.  Highly recommend Captain Randy to anglers of all ages, but especially those with children.  He really goes above and beyond to make sure they are comfortable and have an awesome day.

Half-Day Trip with Captain Ray and Austin

Half Day Trip (PM) on March 4, 2023 • 2 adults

By far the best charter we’ve done. Great boat and equipment. Very easy process and a laid back feel. We had great weather and calm seas. Limited out on Yellowtail Snapper and got a 40lb Black Grouper. It was nothing but action from when we dropped in until the end of the trip. 

We’ve definitely found our new charter boat for our yearly trip! I would highly recommend this crew to anyone!
