Talking Dog Fishing Key West
Depending on the season, you might hook into Jack Crevalle, Bull Shark, Mutton Snapper, Blacktip Shark, Mangrove Snapper, Nurse Shark, Great Barracuda, Tarpon, Grunt, Bonnethead Shark, and lots of other toothy critters.
On these trips, you can expect to catch sharks and tarpon, and get into the fish as well. Capt. Todd also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Your vessel for the day is a 16' Skiff with capacity for no more than 2 passengers. It is fully equipped with a cooler, ice, and fishing licenses are covered.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Awesome Day With Talking Dog
We had an absolutely incredible day on the water with this Captain Todd! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The captain was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He knew exactly where to go and how to put us on the fish. Within minutes of casting, we were hooking into beautiful sea trout, followed by some exciting snook action that kept us on our toes. We saw jumps, long runs, and a real test of gear and technique. The captain coached us through each fight with patience and expertise, making sure everyone had a shot at landing a big one. The boat was clean and comfortable, the gear was high-quality, and we felt safe and taken care of the entire trip. Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience the best of Key West inshore fishing. Can't wait to come back and do it again!

I've fished with Capt. Todd numerous times, and his versatility and depth of knowledge—across different areas and styles of fishing—are truly top-notch. I’d recommend both half-day and full-day trips with him in a heartbeat. Even better, he's fantastic with kids, a pleasure to spend time with, and has that rare, deep love of fishing that even seasoned guides sometimes lose. You'll find yourself appreciating the act of fishing—not just the catching—in new and meaningful ways. If dogs can smell bacon cooking, Todd can smell snook—and if he had a tail, it would wag when he catches the scent. I know he's running tarpon and shark trips now (which I can’t wait to get on), but don’t be surprised if he suddenly starts twitching, runs to a shoreline or bridge, and puts you on a snook. It’s just in his nature (or the altar/shrine he prays at every evening before bed).
