Whats better than going out fishing? Going out with locals who have lived in the Adirondacks their whole lives fishing these waters. The guides at Playin’ Hooky are here to make your trip memorable.
We will do our best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 3 to 9-hour seasonal trips, using light tackle, fly fishing, trolling or even icefishing. Target fish species such as Perch, Rainbow Trout, Crappie, Lake Trout, Pike, Smelt and Bass or whatever will bite depending on the time of the year and conditions on the day.
Open water fishing (April 1st - Nov 25th) - You'll be fishing from a remodeled 2002 19' Pathfinder boat or a 2005 20’ Pathfinder with enough room in each for up to 5 anglers at any single time. These boats ride incredibly smooth on even the rough days and are in beautiful condition. Both boats have a wireless trolling motor to get the best expierence for our clients. All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip & we provide a cooler with ice to keep drinks and snack cold.
Fishing licenses aren't included, so make sure to get them prior to the trip. Children are welcome aboard, so you’re good to get the young ones started early!

Watch your lure go down to the fish and it will change your experience about how fish react to your bait. Dylan was great to talk with and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Justin was able to give us information about the area as well as the different fish. Would definitely book him again.

We booked a 3 hour fishing trip on one of our vacation days. Captain Justin was super friendly and easy going, and really patient with our 3 kids. He showed them how to use the reels, and was unbothered about endlessly getting their hooks unstuck from trees. The kids caught 3 fish, definitely the largest they have caught. We got a little history and info about the lake, and some recommendations for local ice cream and popcorn after! The kids learned how to hold the fish and how to gently release them back to the water. It was a relaxing family experience. We plan on doing again.
