Reef Runner Charters Key West is a locally owned and operated fishing charter located at Historic Charter Boat Row in Key West. We focus on providing relaxed, professional fishing trips that are enjoyable for all experience levels, from first time anglers to seasoned fishermen.

You will fish aboard a comfortable 34 foot Crusader that accommodates up to six guests. The boat is equipped with a toilet, ice box, and fighting chair, making it a great choice for both shorter trips and longer offshore days. All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing licenses are included, and guests are welcome to keep any legal catch.

We offer trips ranging from 3 to 12 hours, allowing you to choose the option that best fits your schedule and fishing goals. Each trip is planned around current conditions and seasonal patterns to give you the best opportunity for a successful day on the water. Depending on the time of year and trip length, target species may include Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Grouper, Wahoo, Sailfish, Tuna, and other seasonal fish found in Key West waters.

An experienced captain and mate will provide a safe, professional, and enjoyable fishing experience while assisting with baiting, gaffing, and handling your catch throughout the trip. Gratuities are customary and always appreciated.

Cold bottled water is provided, and guests are welcome to bring snacks or additional drinks. Reef Runner Charters is family friendly, and kids are always welcome aboard.

Great Day on the Water

6 Hour Fishing Trip - 6:00 AM on March 6, 2026 • 6 adults

Had an absolute blast out on the water with Captain Edward and Ricky! We caught plenty of red snapper, yellowtail snapper, and mangrove snapper- definitely enough for a great meal of blackened snapper tacos later. We also had a ton of fun battling some big groupers and even a few goliath groupers (too bad we had to let em all go!). We even took a shot at catching some lemon sharks, which made the day even more exciting. What really made the trip stand out was how great Captain Edward and Ricky were with everyone on board. Some of us were fishing for the very first time, while others had a bit more experience, and they did an awesome job making sure everyone felt comfortable and had a good time. They were incredibly patient- especially when lines got tangled or when someone (definitely not me 😅) needed a reminder on the proper way to reel in when fighting something on the line. If you're looking for a fun, relaxed fishing trip with a crew that’s knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely wants everyone to enjoy themselves, I highly recommend heading out with Captain Edward and Ricky. It was an awesome day on the water and a trip we’ll definitely remember!

Amazing Honeymoon Trip!

Half Day Trip (4 hours) (PM) on February 10, 2026 • 2 adults

Wife approved a 4 hour trip on our honeymoon so we could fish in Key West. Evan and Captain Pete were excellent. Super calm and relaxed and they had great chemistry working together. told them we just wanted enough fish for dinner that night. Started the trip bottom fishing for snapper and found them quickly. Filled the cooler! We then went trolling for sailfish and mackerel. pulled in some nice mackerel and a bonita. On the last drift, I pulled in a large red grouper. what a battle! was out of season for grouper but had a hell of time reeling him in. Evan suggested we get the fish cooked at Hogfish and to have it fried. wife and i ate well and the fried fish was amazing. Great time on Reef Runner - hoping to be back again soon

Worked hard to put us on fish

Full Day Trip (8 Hours) (AM) on January 6, 2026 • 5 adults

I booked an all day trip, and I was glad I did because it took awhile to find the fish, but that can happen to anyone. We left early in the morning, which I appreciate. We trolled for wahoo early, but never hooked up with one. The Captain and mate actively sought out more fish, and eventually we got into a nice bunch of mackerel. Also caught snappers and jacks, a barracuda, and a very nice sailfish to top it all off. They adjusted tactics and locations until we had all the fish we could eat for 6 people and then some, then we tried for the sail and got one. It was awesome, thanks.

Just completed a full day trip with Captain Edward and Evan. Completely happy with the experience. Captain and mate both knowledgeable and friendly. Fishing gear was in excellent condition. Off the reef the captain and mate frequently adjusted tactics and gear until we contacted fish. Baits were handled carefully; ballyhoo live caught and brined by the crew vs bought frozen. Captain accommodated request to fish for specific species including catching live bait. Captain has excellent knowledge of the reef as well as offshore. Boat was spacious, nice functioning head, good seakeeping qualities. We charter periodically and fish salt water in Florida daily. This captain, mate, and overall operation is exceptional.

Best Trip Ever!

3/4 Day Trip (6 hours) - 8:00 AM on November 15, 2025 • 4 adults

Great trip! We took our twins out for their 16th bdays and Captain made sure they each caught a sail. He actually hunted and tracked the 2nd fish down! Incredible! And it didn’t stop there….we caught 3 mahis and a dozen yellowtail snappers. I’ve been chartering for nearly 30 years and have never had a day on the water like this. I would be remiss to not recognize Evan the mate. He was legit, prepared, super friendly and got everything in the boat! And I can’t forget about the best member of the crew….baby Stella the boat dog! She was a sweetheart and a great way to kill time in between hooks! See yall soon!
