Running angling trips out of Rockport, Rippin’ Gills Guide Service invites you to check out the local bay fishing scene, in style.
Capt. Elijah will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in light tackle drift fishing and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 5-hour trips, mainly fishing for Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder, and Speckled Trout, depending on the season, and conditions, on the day.
You’ll be fishing from a 24’ Shallow Master boat with enough room for up to 6 anglers at any single time. When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. Fishing licenses aren’t included, so make sure to get them prior to the trip. You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.
There will be complimentary waterss aboard for your convenience, but feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks, if you prefer. Children are welcome aboard so you’re good to get the young ones started early.

Had a very enjoyable trip.

My wife and I booked a half-day morning trip with Captain Eli looking for speck and reds. The weather was great but the fish weren't very hungry. We heard that several other guides that were out got skunked. We saw plenty of fish but couldn't entice the reds to bite. Captain Eli made sure we didn't go home empty handed though. We stayed out a couple of hours extra until we finally found the specks and took home some supper.
Captain Eli was very nice and knowledgeable. It didn't really feel like we were fishing with a guide, more like fishing with a buddy that we have fished with before.
If we make another trip to Rockport, we will definitely be looking for Captain Eli.

Eli was about as pro as it gets. He already had the boat ready to go when we arrived. He made sure we had all the information we needed to find him and his boat, the day before. He followed up with us in the morning, with another text. We quickly got to a spot and caught our first redfish by the time he had the 4th pole in the water. He ended up taking us to 4 different spots, resulting in us catching 7 keepers. He was happy to ask all of our questions and was not only pleasant, but entertaining as well. He cleaned our fish and suggested a great catch and cook restaurant. I was initially concerned because we had our trip cancelled by another fishing charter service and were worried that we were going to end up with an inferior guide. That could not have been further from the truth. Our group included people from Texas, Florida and Alabama, who were vary familiar with fishing charters. We were all very impressed by Captain Eli. Hope we get to go out on his boat again, soon.

Had a great day out with Captain Eli. Had my two kids along and he was very good with them. He kept them enguaged, he humored them... Very kid friendly trip. I think its important that when kids go fishing they actually catch fish so they develop a fondness for the activity. We did just that. Toward the end we found a huge school of drum and the kids had a blast!! Would highly recommend this charter for anyone but especially those with children.
