As you draw away from the unspoiled Mauritius coastline aboard a great cabin cruiser, you'll know that you're in fishing paradise! Horizon Fishing is a family business, and with over 50 years of experience, they're happy to help you have an amazing time on the water.
The 42' D'unienville cruiser boat is fitted out for deep sea fishing, with two 220 HP Cummins marine engines, full navigational systems including an echo sounder with a color monitor, and a range of safety devices. There's a spacious deck for fantastic views of the ocean, a kitchenette with a microwave, an enclosed shower, toilet, and a spacious cabin.
You'll use some of the best quality fishing equipment, including Fenwick rods with Penn International reels, and a Penn downrigger. There are three fighting chairs on board, so you can reel in those monster specimens. If you want to take your catch back home and prepare a delicious meal, the crew will be happy to clean and fillet the fish.
Fishing trips involve trolling with live and artificial bait for Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Shark, Tuna, Bonito, Wahoo, and Barracuda, depending on the season. The biggest fish tend to be around in the warmer season from November to April, making this a great place to get some winter sun and go fishing.
The experienced team aboard Horizon never leaves the dock without a selection of good-quality lures and live bait to give them the best chance of attracting a bite. The crew considers every day to be a new opportunity to learn more, and they are enthusiastic about sharing this experience with you.

Eine entspannte Fahrt zum Spot und dann ging es von 0 auf 1000 in nur paar Sekunden. Wir konnten viele Wahoos landen und einen Mahi Mahi. Leider blieb der Traum vom Marlin aus, was aber durch die Professionelle Art & Weise des Teams einfach auch egal ist. Irgendwann komm ich wieder und dann hol ich Ihn Mir 😅.

Nicholas and Julien took good care of us and did everything they could to find the active fish. Despite the fact that the conditions were not the best, we still had 4 strikes during the morning. The biggest fishes were missed this time, but we still managed to catch a really nice and rare Spearfish.

Full Day Trip – Snorkeling & BBQ on August 27, 2022 • 2 adultsBeautiful day with a very professional crew that took us in search for hunting grounds in deep ocean. We didn’t get the big ones but plenty of action with at least 15+ strikes and 9 skipjack tuna landed. Dorade were clearly around and could be seen approaching the jigs, but they were not in the mood. That’s fishing. Again thanks to the crew who searched and found cluster of activity on the surface by looking out for seagulls assemble (and believe me it’s not easy once you are in the middle of the ocean). Morning of fishing ended with some nice spotting of dolphins on the way back and a nice BBQ (including the promptly filleted fish from the morning) in a quiet and beautiful spot in Grand Bay.

But Captain Nicholas and his crew knew what they were doing, we caught a beautiful Blue Marlin of approximately 170 pounds early afternoon. Captain and crew gave us assistance and good advice for bringing the fish safely in. A great day to remember!

Bruno had us on the fish straight away and kept them coming all day in extremely rough conditions. The small tuna was prepared back at our hotel and fed all 8 of us.
