Captain Ken has fished since age four and brings more than five decades of hands-on experience. He tailors each adventure to your abilities, interests, seasonal conditions and target species.
As a mobile charter operation, Kenzi Boats offers:
• Lake Ontario trips for king and coho salmon, steelhead, brown trout, lake trout and occasional Atlantic salmon.
• Lake Erie walleye trips.
• Irondequoit Bay family trips for bass, pike, pickerel, perch and other seasonal species.
• Lower Niagara River trips for steelhead, lake trout, brown trout and salmon.
• Salmon River drift-boat trips for fall salmon and cold-weather steelhead and brown trout.
• Tributary trips on Oak Orchard Creek, Eighteenmile Creek near Burt Dam and the Genesee River.
• Canadice and Hemlock Lake trips for bass, pickerel, panfish and lake trout.
• Seasonal Seneca Lake trips for jumbo perch.
Techniques may include trolling, casting, jigging, drifting, centerpin fishing or fly fishing.
Big-water trips take place aboard a spacious 24-foot Sea Hunt powered by a Yamaha 200 HP outboard, with modern electronics, two livewells, a built-in cooler and a 36-volt Spot-Lock trolling motor. A 16-foot drift boat provides access to rivers, tributaries and smaller lakes.
Rods, reels, tackle and safety equipment are included. Families and children are welcome, and Sea Hunt trips can accommodate up to six guests depending on the package. Bring your own food and drinks.
Guests age 16 and older need a valid New York fishing license. Captain Ken will clean and package your legal catch at no additional charge. Meeting locations vary by trip and are provided before departure.

When we weren't getting bites he used his extensive knowledge, his on board technology and even reached out to other contacts on the water to help find us amazing fishing!!! EVERYONE in our party (including the kids) caught monster fish (King Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and the biggest Steelhead any of us had ever seen!!!). Even with just what we kept (we threw back as much as we kept) we're still sharing Salmon and Trout with friends and neighbors. Capt Ken even went well past the end of our charter time to make sure that everyone went home having had the best fishing trip of their lives. I cannot recommend Capt. Ken (Kenzi Boats) highly enough. This is an experience that me, my son and his friend will never forget. BY FAR THE BEST FISHING CHARTER YOU WILL EVER GO ON!!! Don't second guess it, book the trip b/c you will not regret it!

Make sure you’re consistent when you’re into the fish. Don’t lose the momentum. If you want a CHANCE at that trophy fish, you have to catch what they like. You have to put in the work.” All I could think of in reply at that moment was, “Yes Chef”, I do want that fish, I do want my kids to see the process, I do want THAT chance at catching something awesome. These are the sounds when on a charter that I want to hear. Voices echoing over the waves movement. Lines dragging and planers diving. Teaching about what to look for, what to pay attention too.”how to fish in the environment you’re in. Chef Strimple is a man that if he was in the kitchen would have that title. He is a chef of his environment. I appreciate the time, energy, and genuine caring nature of his personality. He want you to catch, he wants you to be successful, but also be mindful. We took a 6 hour charter with Kenzi Boats. We live in the area and knowingly chartered during the low season when fishing is certainly not at peak so our expectations were not to catch a lot of fish. Captain Ken is a thoughtful, knowledgeable and capable fishing guide. He showed up prepared to put us onto fish. To start the day off, we enjoyed the experience of casting to catch bait fish, which were kept in a live well on board the charter for fishing specific fish/locations. Captain Ken also provided an ample supply of live shrimp for baiting and catching Indian River and Atlantic coastal fish. All the gear and equipment necessary for success was provided by Captain Ken and aboard the boat and ready to begin fishing when we arrived. It was refreshing to have a trip that did not entail a ton of preparation beforehand. We simply brought snacks and water and showed up to fish and learn from the expert. Captain Ken shared a wealth of valuable information and life experience to help us cast and catch our own fish in various environments. He demonstrated various casting and catching techniques that allowed us a successful fishing trip that exceeded our expectations. It was a fun-filled day learning, catching, releasing and keeping the best fish for our freezer. We will book with Kenzi Boats for future charters, making Kenzi Boats and Captain Ken our go to charter provider. Thank You Again Captain Ken!

Captain Ken is the former host of 'Let's Catch Fish' on ESPN radio in Rochester NY. He was a co-angler on the ESPN Northern Tour and also had a 3rd place finish for Bass Fishing on the ESPN trail. Kenzi Boats is a family-friendly charter, and Captain Ken has experience with being a venture crew leader with the boy scouts and is patient with children. 'I have always had a passion for the sport since a young boy. I like the complexity of solving the puzzle of how to get the fish I am targeting to strike. I enjoy teaching my customers fishing techniques that they can build on in the future to be successful in catching fish.'
