Western Wilderness Adventures runs angling trips out of Soldotna and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Capt. Alex aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after! Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, or spinning. You’re looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Lake Trout, depending on the weather and time of year.
Your adventure begins on board a 20’ Power Jet boat that can fit a maximum of 5 anglers. The boat is fitted with an ice box.
All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that’s up to you is to use it as best you can. Don’t forget to buy a fishing license before the trip!
You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

I started off my career as a deckhand but quickly fell in love with river fishing. I fish on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers as a drift boat guide and power boat guide as well. My favorite part about guiding is getting people their first salmon ever and making memories.
