From booking, to arrival and the trip itself, everything was so easy! Captain Mike was friendly and asked what kind of experience we wanted to have. We had our preteen daughter and our niece with us, they were looking forward to having a fun day fishing on the ocean. That is exactly what we all got. We caught more fish than I could keep track of and had a bunch that we were able to keep to eat. The first mate and mate in training were very professional and friendly. They kept fresh bait on our hooks and took care of unhooking the fish we did catch. We even caught a decent size shark! We had an amzing experience and made many amazing memories. Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t regret it!

thank you for the kind words was a pleasure fishing with you and your family
For my 50th birthday, we headed to Bethany Beach to celebrate with family, and my wife surprised me with a four‑hour fishing charter for me, her cousin, and his son. Despite us running a little late, Captain Mike was incredibly flexible and welcoming. We climbed aboard his beautiful 38-foot vessel and he walked us through three different fishing options. We chose “lots of action with an edible catch,” and he absolutely delivered. For four straight hours, with the help of Captain Mike and his daughter, we were reeling them in nonstop. The atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and family‑friendly, and we never went more than a few minutes without a bite. When we got back to shore, Captain Mike even offered us the chance to purchase fresh lobster to go with our catch. That evening we cooked up the fish and lobster for a birthday feast—it was the perfect end to an unforgettable day, and everything was absolutely delicious.
The weather didn’t cooperate — rough seas and all — but honestly, that ended up being part of the story. The vessel handled the conditions like it was built for exactly that, which gave us real confidence out there. The captain and mate are the kind of crew you hope to get. They kept the trip upbeat, stayed on the fish even with the chop working against us, and we walked away having landed two sharks — not bad for a tough weather day. What made it memorable, though, was that they wove in some local history along the way. It wasn’t a lecture; it was the kind of context that makes a place feel richer. If you want a charter where the crew genuinely invests in your experience — not just the catch — this is it. We’ll be back.
We caught a bunch of Croakers, Spot, and small Weakfish. Over 50 fish in a couple of hours. Pretty much non-stop. Also caught a 60 pound shark. Great for beginner youth fishing. First mate Ellie was very helpful and patient. And Captain cleaned fish at end for incredibly reasonable charge ($0.50 per fish). Trip is not inexpensive, but given fuel costs and maintenance, makes sense and certainly competitive with other charters. Also Captain Mike’s boat is larger than most. 38 foot so if you want to get out of sun you can.

thank you was a pleasure fishing with ur family
we had a last minute booking and captain Mike called and we discussed the options for the trip ahead of time. The crew was genuine and invested in putting us on fish- which they did! we didn’t come away with any monsters but we caught a dozen fish or so and had a great trip and ate our catch for dinner. just caht say enough good things about the seevice we received and the overall experience! when we come back we will do so and will be calling Master first thing.

Enjoyed meeting you and the family, its days like this that make what we do one of the best jobs in the world!

I started with my grandfather in the 60's and 70's reef fishing the Florida Keys for Sailfish in the winters and North Jersey for Flounder in the summers. In the 80's, I moved to Delaware and started Fishing in Lewes with Fishermans Wharf, running everything from full-day trips targeting Sea Trout, Flounder, Seabass, Stripers, and Tuna to half-day and night fishing and deep drops offshore. I will give you 120% effort on every fishing trip!
