Fishtales Outfitting runs fishing trips out of Wolf Creek and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.

Capt. Michael aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you had in mind. You're looking at 8-hour trips, where you'll usually go after the likes of Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, and Cutthroat Trout using the fly fishing technique, depending on the weather and time of year.

The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water. Please make sure to buy a valid fishing license ahead of time.

Fishtales Outfitting – Missouri River offers only catch and release trips, so any fish you catch will be returned to the water.

The price of your trip also includes complimentary snacks, drinks, and lunch on full days but you're welcome to bring your own. Please let the captain know if you have any questions or special requests.

Under no circumstances will we put more than 2 people in a boat.

Please tip your guide directly. A 20% gratuity is considered proper.

Half day guided fly fishing on October 4, 2025 • 2 adults

If you want to talk about grace, then let's talk about Chris our guide was amazing, he had every right to get mad at us. I hooked his lip, deep with a fly, my gloves twice, a tree, and a steel line, and we broke one of his rods. He maintained his cool the entird trip. What a great human. he spent extra time with us, and made sure we caught a fish. This was no easy task with our lack of knowledge.  Then it started pouring rain and this man rowed our boat down river at mach 1 without missing a beat! It really was a great day on the water. Sorry about your lip kind sir!

Full Day Trip – Missouri River on April 22, 2023 • 1 adult

Had a great time fishing with Captain Mike Price out of Missoula for a couple days. He took me to a couple of runs that don’t get much fishing pressure and we tore into a handful of trout each day including catching a couple off dry flies and only saw 1 other boat that weekend. He was very knowledgeable and I was able to learn a good deal. Highly recommend!
