Fishtales Outfitting runs fishing trips out of Wolf Creek and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Capt. Michael aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you had in mind. You’re looking at 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, and Cutthroat Trout using the fly fishing technique, depending on the weather and time of year.
The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water. Please make sure to buy a valid fishing license ahead of time.
Fishtales Outfitting – Missouri River offers only catch and release trips, so any fish you catch will be returned to the water.
The price of your trip also includes complimentary snacks, drinks, and lunch, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Please let the captain know if you have any questions or special requests.

Full Day Trip – Missouri River on April 22, 2023
Had a great time fishing with Captain Mike Price out of Missoula for a couple days. He took me to a couple of runs that don’t get much fishing pressure and we tore into a handful of trout each day including catching a couple off dry flies and only saw 1 other boat that weekend. He was very knowledgeable and I was able to learn a good deal. Highly recommend!

With his grandfather as his mentor, an avid outdoorsmen and Connecticut State Park constable, he honed his Trout fly fishing skills. Michael spent a season in Southwest Alaska, which opened possibilities to Southwest Montana and its endless wild Trout streams. He ultimately settled down in Sheridan, where his wife Theresa and himself raise their two children and a yellow Labrador named Maggie.
