River Knight Outfitters
River Knight Outfitters provides experienced guide trips on the Missouri River in the Craig Montana area. Many consider the Missouri river to be the best dry fly river in the world with Pods of rising fish eating the multitude of bugs the river provides.
If you're interested in nymphing or streamer fishing, any given day usually provides an opportunity to try any of the above methods. Join even if you're new to the sport of fly fishing. Your guide Rick loves to fish with couples, youth, beginners, and experts alike. He's eager to share his knowledge of the river and make sure you have an amazing experience on your trip to Montana.
There's enough room for 2 guests to join. You'll be using a brand new, 15' Ro drift boat. Your main targets for the day are Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout. All catch needs to be released, so the only way to keep your trophy is by snapping photos before you release the fish back.
The main technique you'll be using is fly fishing but you can also combine it with drift fishing. Catching fish on a fly requires precision and patience, so make sure to practice as much as you can during your trip.
All fishing equipment is covered by the guide. Make sure to purchase your fishing license and pack some snacks and drinks. It's recommended to bring hats and sunglasses.
Join River Knight Outfitters and enjoy a relaxing day on the river.

Started at Wolf Creek Bridge in MT. Started catching nice rainbows in minutes. My brother and I caught about 20 trout including a 21" brown weighing an estimated 5 or 6 pounds. I cannot submit a photos right now because my phone is on the blink. Can't even send the photo's to myself. Rick was efficient at putting us on fish and giving us all the instructions as to the best way to catch them. His manner was perfect for us as he gave instructions plainly but without making us feel stupid. I said he should have been a teacher. He provided all the rods and flies and did everything to make our trip to Craig perfect for us. Definitely recommend Rick and plan to go back next year and make it my 90th birthday present to myself.

Thanks Ron looking forward to fishing with you guys on your 90th birthday

I had the wonderful opportunity to experience professional advice with gentle corrections in my form to allow me to successfully land one trout after another. I’ve been fly fishing for nearly 50 yrs, that’s right 50 years, and felt I wasn’t too bad at it until I encountered the “Professors of the Deep”! Trout who apparently knew every make and model of dry and wet fly thrown at them. With Rick Knight’s gentle correction in my technique, we landed nearly 10X what other Outfitters were bringing in for their clients. Rick knows the water, knows the fish and is Excellent at putting it all together to create a fabulous fun adventure. He’s a 6 star rating because they don’t come any better then this fella!

I have known Rick Knight for about 11 years now. 9 years ago he took me on my first fly fishing trip; teaching me how to cast and in what kind of waters to expect fish to be in. I caught over 30 fish that day and, needless to say, I was hooked! On Saturday May 29th I got to go out with Rick again. I didn’t quite catch 30 fish, but I got at least 12 in the boat that were over 18”. And I caught my dream fish that was over 24”. Unfortunately, it didn’t make it to the boat. Apparently, I was holding too much tension when the fish came out of the water. (I’m still learning.) A few years ago I was able to take a trip with his son Stephen. He has the same passion and love for fishing that his father does. These guys are some of the best in the industry! Whether you are a beginner and need a lot of guidance, or a lifelong fly fisherman who just needs someone to put you in the right spot on the river, you can’t go wrong with River Knight Outfitters.
It was a beautiful sunny morning and my guide Rick Knight had me on the fish, strong, acrobatic, bright and beautiful Rainbows, 18 to 24". What a privilege, and challenge to land these fish. I have been fly fishing for many years, this was one of the best days on the water I've had. This trip had it all including, a great lunch, great conversation, wrapped in beautiful scenery! These guys are the best!

What a fun day Karl looking forward to getting back on the water again with you soon.
