Based out of Buffalo, Buffalo Bassman Charters is your ticket to a memorable time on the water.
Capt. Greg will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 4 to 8-hour trips, mainly fishing for Bass, Walleye, Perch, or for whatever happens to be biting depending on the season and conditions on the day. All fishing is done with the rod in your hand. You feel the bite, set the hook and fight the fish yourself! Captain Greg will be there to advise and coach you so you’ll land that fish of a lifetime!
You'll be fishing from an 18' Ranger boat with enough room for up to 3 anglers at any single time.
All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that's up to you is to use it as best you can. Don't forget to buy a fishing license before the trip!
Bass are catch and release, you’re welcome to keep other efible species.
Feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks, keeping the cooler or bag on the smaller side.

Half Day Trip on September 6, 2026 • 3 adultsBooked a half day trip with Buffalo Bassman Charters. Couldn't have asked for a more friendly knowledgeable guide. Bluebird skys and light wind presented a challenge to catch fish but Craig was able to get us on some nice smallmouth fairly quickly. Katy had never fished or even been out on a boat was happy to catch a real dandy that fought hard. A slow bite was overcome by persistence and changing locations. We all caught fish and twords the end I caught a pb 6lb 10oz walleye. Can't recommend Craig enough. Absolutely did a great job getting us on fish and instructing how to detect and hook these picky bites. We will be back to fish beautiful Lake Erie with our new friend Craig!

My wife and I had a great experience from the moment we introduced ourselves to Captain Greg on the dock through the entire four hour Charter nothing but professional courteous helping just overall fantastic experience we would recommend him overall 100% whether you’re an adult or a kid he will put you on the fish educate you has a lot of patience just truly enjoys his job being a Charter captain as you can see once you meet him I recommend this to anyone who never fish before or wants to see what it’s like to really catch a fish.

He obviously knew where the fish were and what bait worked best as we were on them early and the bite was consistent. Caught a bunch of nice Smallmouth and landed several large drums and even a Walleye. He was great with my boys who are 13 and 9 and just a generally great guy to talk to and fish with. I highly recommend him and I know we will use him again!

However, I did catch several smallmouth and 10.5 drum as a bonus. The coolest part, was Captain Greg’s knowledge of the area. I was blown away by all the things I learned. It would’ve been a great trip even if I hadn’t caught fish.

When Greg found out it was for his birthday, he offered to send me a gift certificate so that I had some physical to give him for a present. I thought that was very thoughtful. My husband and two boys spent the day on the lake catching fish after fish! Captain was on time, he was friendly and knew the good spots. He even took a ton of pictures that he sent me after the trip concluded. We will definitely not only be recommending him to others but we’ll be booking with him again! Half Day Trip on June 11, 2025 • 3 adultsOur day started out chilly, windy and overcast. I went into this fearing we wouldn’t catch anything and my son and boyfriend would end up not having a good time. I was completely wrong. Greg is knowledgeable, friendly, entertaining and accommodating. The fish weren’t biting much at first, but he still managed to keep our spirits and hopes up! He assured us we would catch fish and we did. By the end of our trip we had caught over 30 fish and had a blast. As soon as we got back in our truck my 17 year old son said how much he liked Greg and what a good time we had. I would recommend Captain Greg to anyone!

My friend and I booked a fishing trip with Captain Greg for October 7th. Captain Greg was available for communication from the time of booking, the day of the fishing trip and even after the fishing trip. He was watching the weather and informed me that it would be better to have a flexible schedule due to the wind factor and that was a great suggestion,because it was much better on 6th of October when we went. The engagement that Captain Greg gave us was well appreciated and enjoyable. He talked about the different types of fish, gave us some history as it related to Lake Erie, shared stories from his past clients, and took us to different fishing spots to ensure that we were able to catch some fish. He was knowledgeable on things in the area and we had a great time laughing and just being ourselves. So much so that we’re planning another fishing trip next year. Thank you Captain Greg for everything. The fishing trip was definitely in the top three things that we liked during our vacation in Niagara Falls.

Captain Greg gave us such an amazing experience! He was very good at teaching us fishing skills on Lake Erie. He told the best stories and made it so there was always conversation. This trip is great for anyone that is up for a good time fishing or looking to learn how to fish. We will be booking with him again in the future and will be taking other people as well!!
