Depending on the season, you might hook into Conger Eel, Flounder, John Dory, Atlantic Mackerel, Pollock, Blue Shark, Ray, Porbeagle Shark, Thresher Shark, Tope Shark, Skate, Squid, and plenty more.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. The fish caught are yours to take with you, so long as they’re within the legal limit.
You’ll step aboard a 36’ Starfish offshore sport fishing boat that can carry up to 11 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Capt. Anthony will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Don’t leave home without bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

The best fishing trips in Newhaven
The Captain is very nice, and he offered great quality fishing equipment to us for free. He is able to wait us who are running slightly late and is able to help us deal with various scenarios during fishing. He also took the initiative in communicating with us and providing as much help as he could, with a huge smile on the face. One of our team members faced severe sea sick and after communication, he's willing to terminate the trip as soon as possible. There's not much to say but a big compliment!

Great captain but poor logistics
We have not been notified of change of address from Newhaven to Eastbourne (change apparently happened between the booking in November and now). Some of us were waiting in Newhaven and then it took them 1 hour to get to the right location. We’ve been asked to pay 130£ extra to get the hour back which we paid. Not the greatest experience to be honest….Captain was great - recommend

Captain Anthony and Luke are amazing people and the trip was great fun. They know the spots and are extremely welcome and friendly. Fully equipped with great gear and just a smooth, wonderful experience overall. Highly recommend.
