Capt. Michael aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you're after! Depending on the trip and species, you'll be using techniques like fly fishing, and drift fishing. You're looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you'll usually go after the likes of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Cutthroat Trout, depending on the weather and time of year.
Your boat for the day will be a 15' ClackaCraft that fits up to 2 anglers at any one time. The boat comes with an ice box.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Please make sure to buy a valid fishing license ahead of time.
Fishtales Outfitting – Clark Fork River offers only catch and release trips, so any fish you catch will be returned to the water.
The boat will be supplied with snacks, drinks, and lunch for your pleasure, be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own.

Under no circumstances will we put more than 2 people in a boat.

Our guide Mike was fantastic...knowledgeable and patient...he had wonderful stories and was a great conversationalist. We were a bit disappointed however that the trip was shorter than we'd expected and the details arranging it were a bit stressful.

With his grandfather as his mentor, an avid outdoorsmen and Connecticut State Park constable, he honed his Trout fly fishing skills. Michael spent a season in Southwest Alaska, which opened possibilities to Southwest Montana and its endless wild Trout streams. He ultimately settled down in Sheridan, where his wife Theresa and himself raise their two children and 2 Lab's named Maggie and Tippet.
