Capt. Dean aims to create a trip that will fit your needs. Fish nearshore artificial reefs and target fish for lunch or dinner, or go backwater fishing. Let him know what you want! Depending on the trip and species, you’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, jigging, occasional trolling, and happy to accommodate either inshore or nearshore fishing (inside 9 miles) for whatever you desire. Inshore fishing generally targeting Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Snook, Redfish, catfish, jack crevalle, pompano. Nearshore trips are targeting Mangrove snapper, lane snapper, Hogfish, gag grouper, Goliath Grouper, Spanish mackerel, Barracuda, and many more. Or simply book a trip to go on a sighsteeing/dolphin tour, shelling, or a run down to marco to get lunch with the family!
Your boat for the day will be a 30’ Carolina Skiff that fits up to 6 anglers. All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain, so you don’t have to worry about it. You can keep anything you catch as long as it’s legal.
You’ll find free bottled water and ice on the boat for your convenience, but you’re always welcome to pack your own drinks and snacks should you want to and a 65qt yeti cooler will be filled with ice so you don’t even need to bring a cooler along just whatever you want to eat or drink besides water. This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure. We love taking out families with small children to give them a great experience of fishing and getting on the water.

Best Captain ever!!
Captain Dean Murphy was the best we have ever had!!! We have done many charter fishing trips. Captain Dean was friendly and helpful to everyone but especially to the children. He wanted everyone to have a memorable fishing experience, and it was. He was accommodating, asking what we wanted to catch, and took us there. He filleted them for us and bagged them on ice. We caught a lot of fish and enjoyed eating them when we arrived home. I would highly recommend Captain Dean and Flat Bottom Girl!!!

Great Day Fishing
Dean took our party out for an early fishing trip. Despite the heavy winds and cold front that came through the night before, Dean got us onto fish early. We had an amazing time and we caught several different species of fish; snook, jack creval, catfish, ladyfish, sheepshead and mangrove snapper. We also saw a sea turtle and dolphin right next to the boat. Dean was a lot of fun, professional and best of all was very laid back and accommodating. We definitely recommend Flat Bottom Girl Charter!

Great trip, catching fish the whole time
Captain brought tons of shrimp so our group didn’t spend time catching bait, which was great. Bite was on the entire time - sheepshead, snapper, keeper black drum, bonnethead, stingray and a few catfish. Kids had fun, adults too. Boat setup was great for our group of 5. Great day on the water!

2 Hour Backwater Fishing Trip
Backwater Fishing Fun
We did the 2 hour backwater trip which was just good enough for the kids and family. We caught many fish (mangrove snapper, pinfish, sheepshead, and catfish). Dean is a great guide to be around and we would recommend to others looking to take the kids out as well. Bonus we got to see tons of dolphins too

Great Day on the Water!
I booked a 4-hour trip with Captain Dean on the "Flat Bottom Girl Charter" out of Naples, FL. Captain Dean knew where to go while watching the wind and tide. Non-stop action for 3 1/2 hours. This was a back bay, mangrove trip using live shrimp. We caught speckled trout, sheepshead, 2 kinds of snapper, catfish and several other species. I brought home sheepshead, trout and snapper fillets for dinner. It was the highlight of my week vacation.
